Joy.
Love.
So much of it that I was so overwhelmed and thought I might die soon. But no, my heart had so much blood pumping and I had so many new different reasons to wake up in the morning.
One of them so happens to be a certain silver eyed God.
Ever since Merideth and Jack's trial yesterday, my blood cells have been going crazy. This is the most happy and relaxed that I've felt in so long, like everything is so new to me again. And of course, it's all because of Axel.
I turned around to see the big sleeping baby peaceful as the world of dreams have taken him temporarily. And you know what sucks? He still looks flawless, none of it is fair.
I sat up a little to see that it was still dark outside. I had woken up a little too early since I was so full of energy and happiness, I'm surprised I even fell asleep in the first place.
I laid back down and shuffled under the covers to move next to Axel. His body was unbelievably warm and he was the perfect heater in this type of situation. I buried my face in his warm chest and his arms wrapped around my body perfectly. He pulled me in even closer and kept me in his tight embrace as he slept.
"What are you doing up babe?" He mumbled out.
"I couldn't sleep Takeridge," I said in a soft voice.
He pulled away only to look down at me. I smiled up at him with puppy dog eyes and he smiled. He smiled in his sleep and I think that it's my favorite thing to see now, "Why not?" He asked hoarsely.
I grinned up at him and got up to straddle his body. Our chests were pressed together and his hands were on my back, rubbing it for comfort, "I'm too happy," I whispered.
He nodded his head and grabbed the remote from the night stand. I snuggled my nose into the crook of his neck while he looked behind me and started searching for a movie to watch.
I placed soft kisses on his collar bone to his neck and it was then that I noticed Axel's heart racing. "Are you okay Takeridge?" I asked worriedly as I pulled away.
He stared up at me and his eyes turned a shade darker once he saw my lips. He pulled me into his body impossibly closer and I giggled, "You're a tease," he smiled.
"You love this tease," I giggled.
My hand flew over my mouth once those words came out from my lips. I sat up and shook my head, "Oh, I'm sorry Takeridge I didn't mean t-"
"You're right," he smirked.
I looked down at him confusedly and he pulled me back down to lay with him. Our faces were only inches apart as he spoke, "I heard what you said in the office. And I love you too," he whispered.
My heart beat started picking up and I was scared it was going to burst any second. In all my days, in all my life, I have never thought that anybody except for my father could love me as much as I love them; maybe even more. And between all of the men there are in the world, it had to be him. I was sad that we couldn't meet when we were younger but Lillian is right; we somehow found our way back to each other. We met either way and it was a spectacular journey that I went through and one that I definitely wouldn't forget. Axel is now my everything, he's who I love.
I looked down at him and smiled at his words, "I love you Axel Takeridge," I whispered.
"I love you more," he said in the same tone.
I crashed my lips onto his and they moved in sync perfectly. Our hearts beat in sync at a fast pace and we held our bodies closely to each other to the point where I was sure they'd break. Our tongues danced in each other's mouths in a song that only we could hear.
