**sams pov**

I'd been here for a few months now school had started and Christmas was just around the corner i was excited but sad that I wouldn't be able to spend Christmas with my mum, Jason and I have become really close and he'd even got into my fave band he started teaching me how to play the piano that we had downstairs and I'd also been getting guitar lessons which was paid for with  my dads money he sent money down every month for lessons i was getting really good, I could play shape of you, treat you better and up town girl,

Today was Friday so last day of school we only had two more weeks before we broke up for Christmas i was very excited but I didn't know what Christmas would be like in a care home it would be different that's for sure

"Good morning class as you all know we break up in two weeks time"

The kids all cheered and smiled before settling down

"We will be holding a Christmas party this sunday so if you can make it please dress in something formal a nice dress or a nice suit something along them lines I've informed your parents and guardians this morning so I'll hope to see you all there"

"Would we be aloud to go?" I whispered to jason

"Of course we can't miss out just cuz we're care kids" he smiled before the assembly ended

We all made out way to first period me and jay are still mates but we're seeing a lot less of each other 1 because he can't come over the care home without serious paper work being done 2 he's always busy with Charlie which I'm very happy about Charlie was bringing out the best in jay and that was a lovely sight

First period was long and boring same as all the other classes really. All I had left to do was to walk home well kinda home and get a shower i wouldn't bother but since it's freezing and raining out i thought a nice not shower would be nice

Because it was Friday it was fish and chips day which everyone loved! marley and I have become good friends even though we went different schools we were good mates she wasn't too bad for a moody teen. Cameron had actually left the care house which was upsetting because we had become somewhat friends he went to live with his dad, he'd finished his rehab and was aloud to see his son again it had been regular visits for 2 months before they moved in together.

Jays dad had a new girlfriend she had two young kids one boy one girl they were only little jay adored them both he would buy them presents and play dress up with them whenever I was aloud round his after school,

My dad had sent me a box with presents in but they weren't just for me they was something for everyone or so he says I haven't opened it because it was for Christmas which was so soon! Jason really had no self control and kept trying to peek in the box so I told him he could open it on Christmas eve and we'd deliver them to everyone's front doors in the night time.

"How would he even know what to buy us?" Marley said tapping the box

"Well he's good at guessing"

"I wonder if he got me a book" marley added after Jason spoke

"I don't know you'll have to wait and see" I smirked before getting up and moving the box to under my bed

I know my dad got marley a book because she's been going on and on about this one book about a boy who worked at a horse stables who falls in love with one of the farmers daughter's i told him to buy it and he did she'd be so happy with it so it had to be bought

"You lot get to bed early because were going shopping for your Sunday dance" she called out marley wouldn't be coming to the dance because she wasn't at our school she was sad but at the same time she was happy because Lorna had promised her a pancake

"Ok thanks Lorna" we all called out at the same time

"I'm heading off to bed" marley waved at us before shutting the door behind her

"She's pretty jason"

"I know"

"WellllLLl"

"Well what?"

" Why don't you ask her out" i shook my head

"No way that's not really aloud if you live in the same care home" he sighed before laying his head back

"Oh" i mumbled embarrassed

"Plus marley isn't my type she's great but she's well-.."

" What? " I said propping myself up with my arm

"She's a..she" he whispered before hiding under his blanket

I blinked a few times not really understanding "She's a she?" I asked myself in my head before it finally clicked

She is a she and not a he?

So he's into guys?

"So you're gay?"

" hmm"  he lied  sitting up before looking at the floor

"Well I'm cool with that" I smiled before turning off our lights it was getting late and Lorna said to get to bed early as possible so that's exactly what we did

It was a long night of tossing a turning i was so excited for the school dance on Sunday that I just couldn't sleep we were also setting the free up tomorrow anyone who didn't go shopping for to set up the tree which was upsetting because I knew I couldn't do both but I had decided that I'd stay here and put up the tree because the more I thought about this dance the more I realised it was just gonna be a trashy school dance where everyone gets bored way too fast and ends up going home half way through I had texted jay and told him i wouldn't be at the dance this sunday now all I had to do was tell Jason and then help set up our lovely green tree
