       "I notice that you seem lost and lonely here. Do you need any help?"

I look down at the schedule in his hand for a moment before answering. "Y-yeah actually, I do. Where can I get my schedule?"

"Oh its umm.. just follow me. I'll show you where" James said as I follow right behind him.

"So Grayson, you new here?" James asked.

"Uhh yeah. I'm pretty new in town actually" I answered.

"Oh really?" James said walking next to me. "What brings you here?"

"Uhh, I don't know" I lied. "My mom just wanted to move here. I guess"

I scratch my head in slight embarrassment. I don't want to tell him I got evicted and had to move here as the only option.

"Oh haha" James said. "So where are you from?"

"Uh Maryland" I respond.

"Maryland? Oh thats cool" James said. "I went there over the summer break"

I look at James a bit surprised. "Are you from Maryland?"

"Oh no" James said. "My aunt just so happens to live there so I go visit her whenever I'm on break"

"Huh, that's nice" I respond, looking away from James as we stop at some students waiting in two separate lines.

"So here we are" James said. "Get in any of these lines to pick up your schedule"

"Thanks" I said with a smile.

"Oh, and may I ask you something?" James said, poking the tips of his pointers together.

"Yeah sure" I said. "Whats up?"

"So I know we just met and all, but is it alright if uhh maybe you would like to hang out with me during lunch?.." James said, looking down at his fingers. "I'm known for being a bit of a loner here heh, b-but if you don't want to like hang out, then that's alright too heh"

My eyes lit up in surprise.

"N-no, I would like to hang out with you man" I said with a smile.

"You do?" James smiles back.

"Yeah" I smile back again. "Where do we meet up?"

"Well.. do you see that over there?" James points at a distance at a building.

"The building?" I ask.

James nods in response.

"What about it?" I ask again.

"It's actually a library. You just wait in front of the library so it's easier to find you" James said. "The library isn't that hard to spot so we'll meet there when lunch starts"

"Alright cool" I said with a smile. "Thanks man"

"You're welcome" James said with a smile back. "See ya later!"
