K awoke to the sound of the Impala being put in her park. Her leg absolutely throbbing and burning in pain now. Trying to ignore it, she looked out the window and saw they were in a parking garage.
"Home sweet home." Dean said as he and Sam opened their doors and got out. K opened her door and with the help of Dean, she made her way inside.
When they got inside, K took in the astonishing view before her. It was a very out dated place. The walls were covered with bookcases and filing cabinets, detailing many files collected over centuries. There a large table obviously for big gatherings in the middle of the room. And finally, a telescope at the far end of the room.
Dean helped to her to a chair at the large table. "Sit tight, I'm going to find Cas." He told her. She nodded her head silently, still not fully trusting these men. Sam sat across from her with a laptop. She sat in silence for a moment before speaking up.
"So why did you and your brother save me? You didn't have to. You don't even know me."
Sam gave her a reassuring smile and shut his computer. "That doesn't matter. We try to save everyone. It's kind of the family business. We hunt monsters including the demon that attacked you."
"So there are others too? Like vampires and werewolves?"
Sam nodded and sighed. "Unfortunately. So what's your name?" He asked curiously.
She thought for a moment. She didn't want to tell him because of obvious reasons. But there was something about this man that she just couldn't lie to. So she didn't.
"It's K. Just the letter K."
"K?" He laughed. "Is that short for something?"
She shook her head. "No just K." She said quietly. Sam could tell that something really bothered her but he brushed it off for now.
A few silent moments later Dean and another man came into the room. This man was shorter than Dean and had a long trenchcoat on.
"This is Cas. He's an angel of the Lord and he's gonna heal you." Dean said. K sat up straight looking frightened.
"Um he's gonna do what? I get attacked by a demon and now im meeting an angel? An angel that's gonna magically heal me? This can't be real!" She exclaimed.
"Don't be scared it'll only hurt for a second, K. I promise." Sam told her, grabbing her hand from across the table.
Cas walked up to her, looking at her like he was trying to figure her out. He extended an arm, touching her broken leg. K felt a burning sensation. Wincing but not moving she let him finish.
"The good news is, it wasn't too broken. You should be fine to walk. But there's something wrong.." he trailed off. He turned to Dean then. "I have to go."
"Cas wait!" Dean shouted but Cas disappeared just like that only leaving the sound of ruffling feathers behind.
"Dammit Cas what does that mean?" Dean said as he walked away. K got up from her chair making sure she could walk. She walked over to Sam and thanked him for saving her.
"Thank you for everything Sam but I need to get on my way now. I really appreciate your hospitality and letting me know that nightmares are real. I'll definitely not be going on any more dates." She laughed.
"You're welcome K but I don't think you should leave." He gave her a worried look.
"Why not? You guys helped me as much as you needed to."
"Yeah but when Cas said there's something wrong.. I don't know I just don't think you should go. But I'm not stopping you." He said standing up.
"I think I can handle myself. Where is Dean? I want to thank him too."
He pointed to the hallway behind us.
"He's probably in his room. First door on the left." He ran a hand through his long brown hair. He looked exhausted. K smiled and thanked him again before turning and heading to Dean's room.
She stopped in front of Dean's room. She could hear his stereo and she couldn't believe he was listening to her favorite band: Motley Crue. She knocked on the door loud enough for him to hear and she heard the music grow fainter as he turned it down.
He opened the door and stood in the doorway, shirtless.
K couldn't help but eye his muscular figure. She snapped out of her thoughts and spoke.
"Um I just wanted to say thank you for helping me when you didn't have to. I'm heading out. But Sam told me he didn't think it was a good idea to leave. He pointed out the fact that Cas said something was wrong." She explained.
Dean nodded his head. "You're welcome. If you ever need anything or get into any more trouble, just call us. Here. I'll give you our numbers." He opened his door wider and went over to his nightstand to a pad and pen and wrote their numbers down.
"I love Motley Crue by the way. And pretty much every other rock band ever." She laughed.
Dean turned around and handed her the piece of paper, K's eyes trailing his body once more before meeting his eyes.
"Well looks like we got something in common." He said back.
K looked at her phone and noticed her battery was dying so she turned to go.
"Stay out if trouble." Dean called after her as she shut his door.
Sam was waiting in the main room as she was coming from the hall.
"Hey uh I'm gonna run you home since you left your car back at that bar if that's ok?" Sam suggested sincerely.
"Oh you don't have to do that Sam, I promise I can call a cab."
" No it's no trouble really. Besides it's 3am you probably shouldn't be out this late alone."
K sighed and nodded. She was just ready to get out of her dirty, blood stained dress and into a nice warm shower. "Fine," was all she said as they walked to the garage, trailing behind Sam. They got into the Impala and headed for her house. It was quiet for a few mins but K couldn't take it any longer.
"Back there in the old building, what happened to the demon? What was with the black smoke?" She asked.
Sam cleared his throat and responded, "I chanted an exorcism. The demon left the body it was possessing and went back to hell. We deal with demons on a daily basis. It's literally our job. Has been since we were kids. How did you end up kidnapped anyways?"
"Met him for drinks. When I went to leave he knocked me out by my car. Thankfully Dean was at the bar and noticed something was wrong or I'd probably be dead."
Sam didn't say much else afterward. The rest of the car ride was pretty quiet and long.
They finally pulled up at K's house and Sam put the car in park. K sat for a moment before opening her door. Then she turned to Sam while putting her hair into a messy bun. "Hey Sam, what do you think Cas meant when he said there was something wrong? Why did he just leave likes that?"
Sam gave her a small smile. "I'm not sure, but when he comes back I'll ask him for you and I'll let you know if I need to."
"Thank you. I just hope it was nothing serious."
"Probably not."
K got out of the car and shut the door, turned around, and headed up her walkway. She unlocked her door and went inside, turning on the lights. She went to her bedroom and took off her bloodied dress and got into the shower. The feel of the hot water felt so good and washed away the pain and confusion of last night. Demons and angels. Vampires and werewolves. Everything that people had nightmares about was really real. She thought about Sam and Dean. Her knights in plaid flannel. She wished she could've spent some more time with them. After all, they were pretty cute. Especially Dean. He had the greenest eyes that matches her own. She wondered if he thought about her. Hell she was probably just another girl he saved on a regular. And no where near his type. She snapped out of her thoughts and cut her water off sooner than she wanted to. But she was tired. She got out and dried off, changing into a clean bra, tank top, and shorts. She walked into her kicthen to grab a bite to eat before bed. As she was looking in her cabinets, she was startled by the sound of a Scottish voice she'd never heard of.
"Hello dear. Name's Crowley, King of Hell. Lovely home you have here." When he stopped talking, he grinned evilly and his eyes turned blood red.
K screamed as loud as she could hoping someone would hear her.
"Oh there's no need for that. You're coming with me." Just as Sam burst in the door and saw them, Crowley snapped his fingers and everything went black.
