"Have a nice day ma'am!" Kirishima waved goodbye to the middle aged woman as she walked out the door, her small array of items clutched in her arms. Outside stood a huddle of small kids, all of them huddled around one of the metal picnic tables as they passed cards back and forth, their faces scrunched up in concentration as they read over the contents of the small rectangular items. Kirishima presumed that the lady was the mother of the group, seeing as she made her way to them and began passing out the things she had bought.
Kirishima laughed quietly to himself when one of the kids, a little girl who cold be no older than eight, jumped out of her seat and ran over to her mother, wrapping her up in a tight embrace. The mother smiled fondly down at the girl and placed a gentle hand on her head before saying something that manifested a glowing smile from the girl.
A tapping on the counter pulled him from his observations. "You done day dreaming, bro? Let me know 'cause we've gotta work, you know, just a suggestion of course." Kirishima scoffed, a grin unfolding in his face as he placed a hand in Sero's chest and pushed him away.
"Why do I always get stuck at work with you? Can't the boss put me on the same days as Yami-bro or something. He doesn't bother me like you do."
Sero took a few steps back and made a kissy face, his eyes gleaming, "Aw, you know you love me Kirishima, besides, you'd miss me too much if you got put on the clock with Tokoyami." Kirishima shook his head. He'd only met Tokoyami two or three times but he knew what Sero was saying was true. The other was cool and Kirishima would consider him a friend but with Tokoyami's quiet and brooding nature there was no way he could survive a work day.
"Go stock the gum or something," Kirishima said through a laugh, his hand waving his friend away. In return he earned another few light hearted jabs which he responded to by laughing dismissively.
Once Sero had returned to his work, Kirishima was left with a faint smile still playing on his lips. Despite having its annoyances, Kirishima was quite fond of his job. He got to see Sero on a nearly everyday basis and, occasionally, his other friends would stop by and see them, distracting both Kirishima and Sero from their work. He loved his friends with all his heart and saw them as his second family. They were always there it seemed and he hoped they would be there for much longer. That was all he could do though, hope.
Kirishima was so lost in thought he almost didn't notice someone entering the store. He looked up he was surprised-- very surprised actually-- to see an always angry looking blonde approaching him. At the sight of Bakugou his heart thumped with excitement. After the no show Bakugou pulled the day before, Kirishima was nearly certain he had scared him away with his sudden proposal of friendship. It made Kirishima sad to say the least. He'd always loved making new friends and wasn't particularly afraid of establishing new bonds with people, especially after lacking so many as a child.
Now that Bakugou was here, he felt he had the chance to apologize for being so abrupt and possibly mend ties with the teen so that a friendship was still possible, however unlikely it seemed.
He had just opened his mouth to speak when Bakugou interrupted, "Do you want to hang out, hair for brains?" Kirishima was surprised. While he had hoped that Bakugou would ask him this at some point, he didn't think it would be so sudden or with such an aggressive tone.
He struggled to find a reply but once again he was interrupted, "I was busy yesterday and couldn't come to your stupid little lake shin-dig so I felt that I could just suffer a few hours and repay you." Well that put him down. Bakugou only wanted to hang out for the sole purpose of wanting to pay him back.
Kirishima sighed but out on a smile, "You don't actually have to repay me, you know?" Bakugou rolled his eyes, his hand running through his hair. Behind him, Kirishima caught glimpse of Sero peaking his head around the corner of a display stand, a mischievous grin on his face. When he caught Kirishima's gaze he snickered and made a face before retreating. Kirishima swore he would kill him before the day was over.
