I feel his arms around me.
For a few seconds his lips rest on my head.
He whispers, "I love you Lela."
I open my eyes. My cheeks are wet. How long was I asleep for? I remember my dream and sigh, I miss him so much. My thoughts are cut short when there is a knock on my door.
"Who is it?" I ask sitting up facing my door.
"It's Carrie," I smile, Andy's little sister.
"Come on in sweetie." She opens my door, walks in, shuts the door and then runs into my open arms. I kiss her head as she starts crying. I pull her onto my lap not caring that she is 14. Unlike her brother she has bright golden blonde hair that is smooth and straight. She is also a hybrid but I always have seen her as the Angelic form where-as her brother looked more the part of a Vampire. Carrie's usually bright sky blue eyes are tinged with the redness of tears and pain.
"I dreamt about him last night."
I smile, "So did I honey."
"What did you dream? I dreamt that he tucked me in like he always did. Kissed my head and then whispered, 'I love you Carrie and I am always with you.' Then I woke up." She sighs sadly.
Smiling I reply, "My dream was a bit different. We were lying in bed with his arms around me, he kissed my head and then he whispered that he loved me."
"Wow," she sighs, "Um, you didn't happen to come over and tuck me in last night, did you?" I shake my head no then ask her why she wanted to know. "Well last night when I went to bed, I swear I fell asleep without my blankets, but when I woke up I was covered," she pauses hesitantly before adding, "and with my dream."
"I don't know what to tell you Care-Bear," I reply, "I never even went to your place yesterday." She sighs obviously daydreaming with the same hopeful thought I have been thinking every day since then. Hope tells me it is him, logic tells me it was her parents.
"Do you think it means he is alive?" she asks me quietly.
"It's possible, his body didn't break down into dust when he died, but who knows sweetie."
"It'd be awesome if he was still alive." Carrie smiles at me. I smile back agreeing with her. When we are both quiet I hear a disheartened sigh and I quickly look in the direction of the noise. I see Curtis standing in my door way and I glare at him.
"When did you get there?" Normally I can sense when people are walking up to my door. It is basically my sixth sense being an Angelic Reaper and all.
Ignoring my question he looks at Carrie and asks, "Can I talk to Ni alone for a bit Carrie?" She nods at him and hugs me goodbye then she walks out of my bedroom. As soon as she does Curtis closes my bedroom door. I raise my eyebrow in curiosity.
"What's up Curtis?"
"How are you feeling Nilea?"
"Heartbroken, you know I did happen to lose someone that I have loved for 7 years." Curtis sighs and sits next to me on my bed placing his arm caringly around my shoulders. I rest my head on his chest feeling my sorrow dissipate as I listen to his heart rhythmically beat.
"Ni, I love you, you're my baby sister but fuck, open your eyes to the life that is happening in front of you." His voice is filled with worry as he lays his head on mine.
"What are you referring to?" I lift my head to look into his eyes. My voice expressing my frustration.
"Nilliebean, come on," he frowns at me, "the old you would have figured it out by now."
