Cerian.
"Are you sure you'll be okay from here?" Corey asked with a lot of uncertainty and concern."Sure I am,home's just two blocks down,I'll be fine,"
His fingers uneasily tapped the steering ,bottom lip tucked in his teeth in frustration as he looked at me then the road and back at me, "I could just drive you to your doorstep, just to be sure you'll be okay,"
"Seriously,I'll be fine, you're just making it hard to convince you, look, there are a bunch of functioning street lights and look," I pointed at a man walking across from us," He's walking his dog at this time, are you convinced?"
He blew out some air and turned to me, "I'm not but I trust, you'll be fine," He finally unlocked my door.
"Text or call..just let me know you're home," He said once I was out, I leaned over the window and told him," Thanks,I had a really great time,"
"Next time we could take it all the way? That's if you're okay with it,"
"Yeah, next time," I shot him a smile and waved as I watched him drive away then walked away, finally heading home feeling a lot better than I did when I left.
Seconds later I was at the front of my door, the lights were on and Denver's car was parked on the drive,a clear sign he was in. Without putting much thought into it,I opened the door and walked in.
The first thing I did was head straight to the fridge and got myself a bottle of water. The moment I shut the door,Denver appeared, like the ghosts from horror movies,he was leaning against the wall, arms crossed over his chest,a scowl on his face.
"Where have you been? " He asked in a flat tone.
"Away from you," I simply answered uncapping my bottle and gulped some water.
"You've been missing for almost a day and that's what you have to say,do you know how worried -"
Hardly had he completed his sentence when a burst of bitter laughter escaped my mouth, "Wait, you," I pointed the bottle at him," You were worried, that's fucking rich Denver,"
"Are you drunk?"
"Me,no," I shrugged, drinking more water," Well,I was last night when I saw you Fucking that guy er..what's his name," my fingers snapped as I tried to think of the interns name, "Zain,Zyan..Zach. Yeah I think that's his name Zach,"
The angry scowl melted off Denver's face like molten metal and what replaced it was what looked like guilt because of how his eyes dropped, looking anywhere but at me, "Cerian.."
"I'm going to bed,I've had a long day,"
Denver opened his mouth to say something but quickly shut it, I finished the last drop of my water and walked past Denver heading to our room, skipping two steps as I climbed the stairs.
When I got to my room I went straight to the bathroom, took a warm bath and changed into some sweats. Once I was in bed,I texted Corey telling him I got home safely and goodnight.
Denver came in a while later,I felt the mattress deep under his weight as he climbed up the bed, "Hey.." He whispered scooting next to me but I shifted away, "Told you I'm tired,"
"I just want to talk,"
"And I just want to sleep, could you at least respect that," I retorted.
He made a noise of frustration and that was his way of saying fine and turned away. I snuggled deeper under the sheets and fell asleep with a smile on my face as I thought of Corey and how his lips tasted on mine. My heart was bursting with joy partly because I was giving Denver a taste of his own medicine and partly because I slightly had a mini crush on Corey.
