The Queen had decided to throw a ball in honor of her great-granddaughter's return and had let her invite anyone she wanted. Isabelle invited Sarah, Daniel, and Chris, along with the rest of the band and her adoptive parents. She and Daniel danced for a little bit then she had to introduce him to her biological family. Isabelle took Daniel's hand and he said to her, stopping in his tracks, "I don't know if I can do this, Bella." Those were the exact same words she told her adoptive parents about being apart of the royal family. Isabelle gave her boyfriend a comforting smile and replied, "Yes, you can, Danny. You will have to meet them some day. At least do it for me, please." Daniel shaked his head and said, too scared, "No, I can't. I mean, they are the royal family for Christ's Sake." Isabelle rolled her eyes and replied, being sarcastic as she spoke in French for a bit, "And I'm the Dauphine of France. Come on, they're not going to hurt you, Danny. Get your big boy pants on and let's go."
Daniel sighed, he knew he wasn't going to get away with this so he just gave up. He let his girlfriend introduce him to her family. The young teen boy got a few stares from his girlfriend's biological uncle, great-grandfather, grandfather, and her biological father. Her biological mother, great-grandmother, her grandfather's wife were very accepting and warm around him. He knew that he had a difficult road ahead of him. Harry, being the overprotective uncle; said to his niece's boyfriend, "So, Daniel, what do you do in your spare time when you are not doing school or band?" Daniel glanced at his girlfriend who just shrugged her shoulders and he replied, "Um; I play the piano, guitar, and sketch. I love to bird watch and to go fishing. I also like to creat songs when I play the piano and guitar. Isabelle often sings in them with me."
At the mention of the hobby, Isabelle slightly blushed which caused her family to turn to her. Kate smiled at her eldest daughter and said to her, "You sing? You never told us that." Isabelle replied, "It just never crossed my mind, Mum." Isabelle gasped when she realized that she had called Kate 'Mum' for the first time. Kate smiled lovingly and wrapped her arms around her eldest daughter, bringing her into a hug. Daniel gave his girlfriend a smile and a thumbs up which caused her to roll her eyes at him. From the sidelines, Harry continued to eye Daniel since he was still unsure if the boy's intentions were pure for his niece.
Harry made eye contact with his niece's boyfriend and nodded his head at him, meaning that he wanted to talk to him alone. Isabelle watched as her boyfriend followed her uncle and began to feel worried. As she moved forward, her grandfather stopped her and Charles said to his eldest granddaughter, "He'll be fine, Isabelle. Harry just wants to speak with your boyfriend." Isabelle looked at her grandfather then at the direction her uncle was leading her boyfriend. She sighed then brightened up when Chris and Sarah came up to her.
