Chapter 7: Going Back to School

After a few weeks of getting used to the royal protocol, getting Princess lessons, and meeting the rest of the royal family, Isabelle was going back to school. Of course, ever since she found out about her being royalty, she dreaded the thought about going back. Her biological mother was getting much better now that she was back. Isabelle still hasn't gotten used to being around her biological parents and still hasn't called them 'Mum' or 'Dad' yet. Isabelle sat in the limousine with her biological father and he said to her, "You have nothing to worry about, sweetheart. I'm sure your friends and boyfriend will understand." Isabelle just gave her biological father a look and replied, "When you're in band, they can hold a grudge. I'm not so sure about Sarah, Daniel, or Chris. We've been friends since we were in diapers nearly." William just chuckled and said, "They'll give you a chance if you all are as close as you say. If not, then they aren't really your friends." The limousine pulled up Isabelle's school and the father-daughter duo got out, only to be greeted by Isabelle's headmaster and the assistant headmistress. They were greeted by screams and cheers, as well as the press. Isabelle turned to look at the press and William said, gently pulling her with him as they head towards the school, "Don't pay them any attention, darling. They're just troubled." The headmaster said to William, "I'll tell you this, Your Highness, I was shocked when I found out that Isabelle was the long lost princess. She has been one of our most talented and outstanding students here." Isabelle blushed and William replied, "I'm glad that she just got a great education and a loving family. During the time she was gone, I hoped that she was at least loved." The assistant headmistress said to Isabelle then said to William, knowing she had a class, "You may go to class now, Isabelle. She has a Chemistry class right now and she needs to be in there, Your Royal Highness." After saying goodbye to her biological father, Isabelle headed towards her class.

During break time, Isabelle sat outside underneath a tree as she sketched in her new sketchbook that her biological uncle got for her as a present. She looked up when she heard footsteps coming towards her and saw her friends and boyfriend coming towards her. Isabelle said, "Hi, guys. Listen, I'm......." Daniel raised his hand up and said to his girlfriend, "No, Isabelle. We just want you to know that we support you and we love you. We're just disappointed that you didn't tell us about all this." Sarah nodded in agreement and said, "Yeah, we thought you trusted us." Isabelle replied, "I do trust you guys but I couldn't talk to anyone else while I was getting used to the royal protocol and everything." Chris nodded as well and said to Sarah and Daniel, "You know that she is still dealing with being apart of the royal family. That is a huge responsibility and a big deal." Isabelle smiled at Chris, thankful that he was on her side. Chris continued, hoping that his two friends would understand what Isabelle was going through, "Plus, she just found her biological family, you guys. You gotta at least go easy on her for that. Daniel, you're her boyfriend. You're supposed to be supporting her and all eyes are going to be on you now. Sarah, you're her best friend like me. We just have support her." Sarah and Daniel shared a look then nodded, finally realizing that it wasn't Isabelle's fault. Isabelle smiled, she was glad that Chris understood what she was going through even though he wasn't royalty. She knew he had problems at home but he didn't let them bother him. Chris smiled back at Isabelle and said to his other friends, "Now, we have to stick together and stay with Isabelle. She has a rocky road ahead her and she's gonna need us more than ever. So, we've gotta make a pact. No matter what happens, we will stay friends." Isabelle nodded, putting her hand on top of Chris' hand, and looked at her boyfriend and other best friend. They then nodded and placed their hands on top of Chris' and Isabelle's.
