Help

Eliza POV
I help Abby get in the car and drive straight to a hospital. Sadly we get stuck in traffic. I try to reroute is multiple times but nothing is working. We sit there and I try to help bandage her wounds.
"So Abby so you have a relative you can call?" I ask her.
"My mom and I stopped talking but I have my kids. I don't want to drag them into this though they are in college. Can we please drop the subject for a bit?"
"I'm pregnant. I'm 12 weeks along."
"That's amazing! Babies are so darn cute, sticky, and gross too but really really cute!"
"I'm really excited to meet my little peanut," I admit.
"I'd bet!"
"Yeah I already love this thing so much."
She looks at me as I grab more  gauze and she stops.
"Why are you doing this?" She asks me.
"Because I'm a Good Samaritan and it got me out of my run."
We both laugh at that. She is still bloody and badly bruised. I can't imagine living with someone who beat me. Alex would never. I'm glad I chose a good one. She is staring at me as I pull into a women's shelter parking lot. I help her out and take her inside. They start moving around in their clinic to find some painkillers and saline. They constantly ask her what happened but she won't say. She is silent and they question me about it all.
"Dr. Hamilton what do you know?"
"All I know is that she pointed to her ring when I examined her in the park and she has kids in college."
"We need to call the police. She seems to trust you. Sit down with her and try to get her to talk."
When they leave to call the police I look at her as I sit down in a very uncomfortable chair. The fluorescent lights of the hospital are not comforting to me or Abby. She looks terrified and her heart rate and blood pressure are extremely elevated. I grab her hand and squeeze it and finally muster up the courage to ask.
"Abby what happened?"
"I was- I was raped last night."
