Eliza POV
We held hands and walked through the door. They were cheering and a lot of commotion. I barely got to breathe before I was bombarded by questions and compliments. It was really cool, but exhausting to answer all the questions. Thankfully my mom pulled me and Alex out of there.
"Oh lord some people just don't know how to let people breath or the rules of personal space!" She whispers yelled angrily.
"Mom it's fine. They just want to know everything. It's really not a bother." I replied calmly.
"I know," she said.
We sat down for about two seconds until Phillip came up to me and smiled.
"Congrats, sis I'm proud." He said hugging me.
"Thank you, Phillip," I said mid-hug. Then Aaron Burr came up to us.
"Congratulations on the wedding." He said giving Alex a handshake. Theodosia (his wife) came to me and gave me a hug. She is very nice and was incredibly kind when I met her 2 years ago. Everyone was watching attentively when we eat. It was like we were animals in a zoo. They took little breaks to eat but after 5 minutes got tired and focused on their food and the kids throwing food at each other. It was cute but then it wasn't. Alex and I didn't even get to talk we could barely hear each other over all the people talking! We finally could when we had our first dance.
"Hey there Mr."
"Hello, Mrs. Hamilton. Glad we finally get to have this dance."
"Me too. Everyone seems to want to talk to us for every second of our wedding."
"'No kidding babe."
"Well after this we have to go back to-" he cut me off with a kiss.
"Stop talking about the nosy guests. We have three minutes and thirty-three seconds of where we just dance."
"Alright then let's just dance"
We let everything go for the remainder of the song. Then it was time for my dance with my father.
"I'm very proud of Eliza," he told me.
"Thanks, dad"
"I'm being serious. You are a doctor and you have just married a soon to be a well-respected lawyer."
"Thank you. You believed in me and invited George over to our house so really you are the reason I'm where I am today"
"Hero's not the word I'd use darling"
"That's not what I said but yeah I'd use it"
"I know sweetie,"
We finished up the dance and then I sat down until Angelica and Peggy came up to me.
"Hey there come dance with us"
"Really? Right now?"
"Yes right now! This is the only wedding is sisters will be at! Peggy said it herself!" Angelica told me.
"Please please Eliza! Please! We need to leave our bodies on the dance floor! This is your wedding night!" Peggy begged.
"Fine one song!" I told them.
Angelica, Peggy, and I danced for so long I lost count! It was really really great!Alex POV
Angelica and Peggy convinced Eliza to dance and I'm glad they did. You can tell how truly happy she is. Burr walks over to me without his wife, but with someone else.
"Hamilton this is a good friend of mine. His name is Mark-"
"Sloan how are you?!" I ask him.
"You two know each other?" Burr asks us.
"Yeah we were roommates in college," Mark told Burr.
"Well glad you know each other," Burr told us. He seemed slightly upset we knew each other.
"Oh I'll be right back little Emily will eat my cake if I'm not there to protect it. You know the wife will kill me if she gets even more sugar." Mark tells me running away."You ok Burr?" I ask him.
"Oh I am fine I just feel horrible for you dear wife," he tells me.
"And why is that?" I ask him.
"I can only imagine the heartbreak she'll feel when you do wrong by her. I knew from the second you laid eyes on her she was doomed."
"You jealous that I got Eliza after you tried to hit on her all those years ago?"
I was no longer smug. Burr got under my skin. If he dares make a move on Eliza I will tell his dearest, Theodosia.
"No, I love my wife and wouldn't trade her for the world. Now you, my dear friend you would trade your wife the world."
When he walked away I swore to myself to always do right by Eliza. I will not let her down. After all, she never has let me down.
When she walked over to me she held out her hands motioning for me to dance.
She and I were slow dancing and even though people around were too, it felt like just the two of us out there.
"What did Burr say to you? You are tense and you weren't when I left to go dance with my sisters," she tells me. I was going to brush it to the side, but I knew it would stay there for years, so I decided to tell her. After all, I just swore to do right by her.
"He said he felt bad for you and could only imagine the heartbreak when I did wrong. He also said I would trade you for the world."
"That is the biggest load of bullshit I have ever heard," Eliza then walked off the dance floor gracefully making it look like she was just exhausted. I then caught up with her where she had a warm smile on her face. She didn't want to draw attention, and with that smile, they all just thought she wanted conversation. She made her way to Burr's table and stood there as she continued in her smile. She looked at Theodosia, who was seated next to Burr and then looked back at Burr.
"Mr. and Mrs. Burr I do hope you two are enjoying yourselves," she told them.
"We are Eliza thank you for this it's lovely," Theodosia answered.
"Oh of course," Eliza then turned her attention towards Burr and continued to smile.
"I would like to have you know Mr. Burr that I will not be heartbroken when my husband does wrong by me because he never has and never will. Also, he wouldn't trade me for the universe because he has told multiple times that I am his universe. Also, you do not get to talk. If I remember correctly you were quite flirty when we first met, and I believe you started dating Theodosia while she was still married, but I could be wrong for all we know my memory could be a little off. After all, I don't remember me or my asking for your opinion on our marriage. So, Mr. Burr, you can either shut your mouth and enjoy yourself or if you wish to trash not only me but my husband, then don't let the door hit you on the way out." And with that Eliza smiled once again at Theodosia and walked away.
"That for you, Burr is my wife. See you at work," I walked away, and Eliza and I walked to our table where we high fived, and spent the rest of the night dancing, and being the newlyweds. This will forever be the best night of my life.
Hope you guys enjoyed!!! Next chapter is the honeymoon! (Don't forget who was born after the wedding and Yorktown in the musical!)
