Bathroom Floor And Walls

You go 'round the world
Being happy and upbeat
But deep down,
You've been too cruel to yourself
So much so,
You hope to stop your own heartbeat.

The sun sees your cheery smiles
But the moon knows your glistening eyes
"Please", to the sky you beg,
"Relieve me of the rest."

Your skin is crawling,
Your soul is trembling
And in the midst of it all,
In the air you keep on drawing
The remnants of your childhood tales.

For you've come to realize,
There is no paradise
And the friends you've known
Leave you to fend for yourself, all alone.

Now you've come to know
The demons don't hide under the bed
They reside in your head
And the only thing to support you when you fall,
Are your bathroom walls.

In the mirror you see
The shell of what used to be
And your eyes,
Devoid of life
The blade held to your wrist
You try to forget
Of dreams that turned to mist
As you drown in your regret.

They deafen you,
The voices in your head
As you slide down,
Wishing to just fade.

The morn has heard your songs,
The night, your sorrows
Even the nightingale seems to speak
Of your eyes so bleak

When your façade finally breaks
You want to rest forevermore
Lying there on your bathroom floor
For those four walls have seen
More of you than anyone can imagine.

But you are yet to know
Inside, there are flowers begining to grow
From the soil of pain,
And the tears that have flown.

You can't, you won't,
The blade clatters to the ground;
You convince yourself,
"Just pull through another day",
For align, the stars will
And you will have come a long way
From that bathroom floor;
And the world will never have known
A soul as brave as yours.
