You could not break my heart
the way I shattered yours;
the way I ruthlessly tore it apart
worse than I ever did before
You could not ruin my life
the way I made you bleed;
the way I ripped you inside
so hard that you couldn't speak
You could not make me weep
harder than these dark skies
harder than your eyes did
when I bid you my goodbye
For you could not inflict pain to what's already aching
For you could never break a heart that's already broken
