Roughly twenty years ago...
"I'm in Sensei Var's class right in the next hallway if you need me," Red had smiled at Scott.
"Whatever," Scott crossed his arms. "I can go to my classroom just fine!"
"I know you can so I'll get going then," Red started to walk but Scott grabbed onto his school shirt. Red turned around.
"Well...maybe you can walk me. Just for today..." Scott mumbled.
Red ruffled Scott's hair then held his younger brother's hand. Together, they walked towards the new classroom Scott would be in.
Scott pushed up his blue frames as he watched Red walk over to his classroom. Scott then turned and went inside the classroom.
It's not like it's the first day of school. But Scott always felt a little nervous about being around mages who weren't his family.
"Scott!" Someone ran up to him. "I can't fix my toy! Can you fix it?"
"But I don't know how," Scott frowned.
"Please! It's my favorite toy!" The classmate started to sob.
Scott immediately saw Quill crying instead. He then took the toy and focused. The blue wires in his eyes lit up as he saw what the toy was made up of.
It was a just a dead battery. Scott focused on the battery and he gave it a boost.
"There! All done!" Scott held the toy out to the classmate.
"Thank you Scott!" The classmate smiled brightly.
"Your welcome!" Scott smiled.
Every since then, Scott willingly helped out mages with small technological problems. Eventually letting the teachers notice and put him into different competitions.
Scott beat them all. Every technopath his age was no match for him. Everyone enjoyed it, he brought home trophies and his parents and siblings would always smile and hug him.
That was until one competition.
Scott, now a teenager, watched from backstage. He was excited to see the strongest technopath of the teenage level go against another technopath. He wanted to win this in honor of his parents.
"Now let's welcome our competitor, Ada!"
Scott watched as a the familiar pink-haired and white wired-eye mage stepped onto the stage and sat down at her seat.
"Ada competes? Huh, I didn't know that..." Scott watched with curiosity. He had come out past the yellow tape so he may as well enjoy the full action.
"Your task, is to hack through this device. Whoever hacks it first wins! Now, go!"
Scott watched in awe as the wire in their eyes glowed brightly. Suddenly, the champion collapses and the device glows white, signaling that Ada won.
The champion let out a cry in pain. Scott's eyes widened, his mind felt as though it was being hacked by some outside source.
He was no longer in control of his body. Everything under someone's control. But he was just trapped in a body.
Just like when his parents died.
The champion shrieked and curled up on the ground. Ada watched, her face completely neutral.
