"wohooo~!"

donghyuck laughed as he stumbled his way to the shore, beaming in happiness with his hands up in the air feeling the cool wind.

finding a place to settle on, he sat down, gathering up some sands in his hands and tried to build a castle, forming the base first with four towers.

as soon as he ran out of water, he grabbed his bucket and stood up, running his way to the sea to fetch water before going back to his place.

but what surprised him though, is to see a group of kids ruining his almost finished sandcastle. he widened his eyes and went to stop the kids. "n-no! stop!!"

he went in front of one of them but he only got pushed, and then that was when he started tearing up. but he is a strong boy and he doesn't want to cry in front of them. so he bit his lip and tried to approach the boys again who were already enjoying their time ruining the castle.

"stop please!"

one boy turned to face donghyuck and laughed. "aww look he's crying! what a crybaby."

they all broke into a fit of laughter until..

someone threw a snake which made one boy panic and screamed, until the group of kids ran away from little donghyuck.

the male blinked in confusion as he picked the snake up. it wasn't real. "eh..? where did this come from.."

he turned around and saw no one which made him pout. "it would be impossible for a snake to appear out of nowhe— AAAAAAHH!!!"

right when donghyuck averted his gaze back to the direction where the boys ran, he screamed seeing a boy standing really, really near him wearing a small smile.

he took a few steps backwards. "w-who are you?"

"hi I'm jeno!"

( a few minutes earlier )

mark was just doing his task when he saw 4 boys making their way to donghyuck's castle and felt alarm as they started stepping on them.

at first, mark thought they would do it real quick so he didn't bother to do something to the boys. but right when they made the younger boy cry, mark felt something kicking in his system. as if he just had the urge to protect the boy and not see him cry ever again.

while thinking of something to do, he heard someone speaking beside him. "are you just going to fly there and watch our little human cry?"

he frowned and glanced at the angel. "what are you doing here? I thought you would only appear when needed."

"well, I AM needed."

he said pointing to the boy who got pushed.

mark glanced back at donghyuck and clenched his fist.

"we have to— yah!! mark lee what are you doing?" jeno couldn't continue what he was about to say when mark himself transformed into his human form, but the same age as donghyuck is ( without the humans noticing, of course )

"I'm going to do what I need to do." mark spoke and did the only thing he could do as of now, throwing a fake snake in front of the boys.

jeno shook his head in disbelief and whispered before doing what mark did. "I knew you'd act like this sooner."

( present )

"j-jeno?" donghyuck repeated, blinking continuously.

the what seemed like older male nodded and smiled happily. "yep!"

the younger tried to take a peek behind his newly found friend, only to see another kid who had his arms crossed, looking at the sea, frowning.

"and who is he?" he asked quietly to jeno, thinking that the boy behind might be in a bad mood.

"oh! he's mark! be careful though, he doesn't go really well with new kids. he's a grumpy man" jeno chuckled, whispering back the last few words to donghyuck who ended up giggling.

"yah! what are you guys laughing about?" mark huffed in annoyance which only made the two boys laugh more.

no one knew, that at that same moment, someone was watching at them with a smile on their face.

"i hope he will fill up the empty space I left.."
