ever since that day, mark and jeno had to transform into a human for donghyuck to be happier. the child loved being with the two, they clicked really fast. well, him and jeno clicked really fast in a span of 3 days.

jeno find the younger fun to be with. it was weird, really, to go transform back into a 7 year old kid with the mind of a thousand year old. nonetheless, their moments were the best for the little human anyway. and seeing their human, makes jeno happy and satisfied with his work as an angel.

but mark being himself, he wasn't really talking much to the human. he'd only talk to him if he was asked or if he needed to.

today is the last day of the family's trip. and to say that little donghyuck would be sad is an understatement. he was too caught up with how amazing it was living here that he almost forgot they were going back home today.

mrs. lee noticed how his brows were furrowed, glaring down at the floor while in deep thought. so she came up to her son. "sweetheart, mind telling what's bothering you?"

the kid snapped out of his traces and looked up at his mother helplessly.

"we're leaving today, right?" and his mom answered with a nod.

they both went silent. until.

"mom, remember the two boys I've been playing with? mark and jeno?"

"yes, why?" knowing by his tone, his mother already know what was soon coming out of her child's mouth.

donghyuck pouts. "what do you think would be the best gift for them? i wanna leave something as a remembrance, you knoowww"

mrs. lee giggled and pats her son's head. "just give them something that reminds you of them"

the child's mouth formed into an 'o' shape and beams. "okay! thank you mom~"

he pecks his mother's cheek and ran to his own room, locking the door almost immediately as he didn't want anyone to disturb him while he do his work.

he opened his drawer and took out a few things that he found in the sea, one identified as a stone but with a hint of bluish thingy on random areas and one being white, it was slightly glowing which made it beautiful.

he placed them down the mattress and stared at each of them simultaneously, thinking of how he was going to make it into a necklace.

and while he was doing so, one dark figure was watching him from behind. he tilts his head a little to the side confusingly. what was he planning?

before mark could observe the younger more, he heard a whisper. "lucifer's calling you."

must be from the underground.

mark was quick to close his eyes and teleport back to the palace. he was right outside the throne room. "this better be important" he frowns.

clearing his throat, he opened the door and saw lucifer looking at a magical fireball. it was like a crystal ball, you could see everything that you want to see.

mark bowed as lucifer faced him.

"that kid." he started.

"keep an eye on him. he's not just a plain stupid human, lee. i hope you do your job like usual. don't fail me."

the demon almost scoff at the choice of words but refrained himself. "I won't."

the king of the underworld smirked, satisfied with the answer. "you may go now."

that was all? mark sighed and bowed once more before leaving the palace. could have just watched donghyuck. I bet he's already done with his work now though.

each seconds in the underworld is already 3 minutes in Earth. and this was one thing that mark hates.

as he went back to the human world, he couldn't see donghyuck in his room. he sighed and was about to go out when something or someone pulled him back. "where were you?"

the demon only shrugged. "underworld."

"oh"

"hyuck wanted to give you this" jeno smiled timidly and handed mark the precious necklace.

mark eyed the necklace and slowly took it. he was surprised. so those were for them after all.

jeno floats in the air and sat in an Indian seat way, chin resting on his palm. "he was sad you couldn't come."

"where are they?"

the angel pointed at the door. "living room. they're about to leave in a few minutes."

"I'll be going now. see you soon, mark lee." jeno flashed him another eye smile and flew away, teleporting back to heaven. the lee family was going to leave the place so he wouldn't be much of a use now.

and so mark was left alone in the room. and he only realized that the room was empty.

soon enough, he got out of the room with the necklace in hand. there's no doubt, it was definitely pretty. no one had ever given him such, other than him of course.

first off, I'm really sorry it took me months to update. everything's been pretty rough for me lately and i can't bring myself to write anything. definitely no inspo 😔👌 but yay i finally have one ｡◕‿◕｡
