Mon-els POV

I woke up with Kara in my arms, her head on my chest and her arms around me, I smiled give her a small kiss and look at the time, it was 7:30 and my interview is 9:30. I'll get up, make myself, Kara and Owen breakfast and then get ready. Kara decided to go into work and take Owen with her and get one of Nia to go to the daycare to do an interview and ask a few questions about yesterday, and it was a discrimination story on aliens, alien children in daycare, school, and workplace with kids. How do I know this? Well, Kara asked me and I said to her do a story about it.

"Ok good luck, remember to be yourself and tell them about all the amazing opportunities you have. Don't worry; you will be great" Kara told me. I smiled. I gave her and Owen a kiss walking into the school they were standing outside of National City elementary school. "Good luck daddy" I hear Owen say as I went through the gates, I turned around and waved at him. He gave me a cheeky grin waving back.

As I waited outside of the office, I looked at the achievements all the young children had accomplished for the school, when they called my name in I gulped, feeling nervous.

"So Mr Mathews, welcome," the principal started "Thank you," I replied with a smile. "So why early childhood," the principal asked me. "Well I think that children are brilliant and they are the future, and I feel like as an early childhood elementary school teacher, we help them change the future and make it together, by helping them and giving the right tools and encouragement that can do that," I said, the principal nodded. "So I see you have worked in a few daycares and as a nanny, for an alien family regularly how do you feel about them?" He asked me. "I don't mind them; I think they are like most people they are refugees, wanting to find a safer place to live as well as coming here because their world was affected by war," Mon-el explained. The principal nodded. "Ok, so if you get the position you will be taking over a lady who is going on maternity leave, I ask females and males this, are you planning on starting a family?" The principal asked. "Um my partner has a two-year-old boy, and we have one on the way," he said, no realising that he should've said that last part. He nod's "Ok well, would you like to be shown around the school, and meet your class?" The principal asked. "I would love that" I replied smiling. "Great, come with me," He told me, getting out of his chair walking outside the room with me behind him.

The principal showed me around the school and showed me where everything was, and I didn't expect this because from what wyn, Kara and a few other people from the bar have said that typically give you an interview and call you later in the day, or the next day. After an excellent tour around the school, we returned we sat back down. "So when are you available to start?" He asked me. "As soon as you need me" I replied smiling."great well if it's ok with you can you start in two-three days, so mo day next week, and you will be her assistant, get used to the class and the school and then you will be on your own after the week after next" he told me.

"That would be great thanks" I replied with a smile. "Great thank to we will see you on Monday, we will send you an email with your contract to you tomorrow, and it would be great if you can send it back before the end of the day which for me is 4 pm," he told me I nodded getting up shaking his hand. "Thank you," I said with a smile. I walked out of the school smiling, once I was out of the school grounds I called Kara, we decided to meet at the park, she would bring us morning tea.

I sat down on a park bench, waiting for Kara and Owen. I saw a little boy running toward me, when me became closer I noticed it was Owen, I got up and walked towards him, he fell over, causing his new glasses to fall off in the process, he got up started running and instead of using his regular running, his super-speed kicked in and ran up to him and crashed into my legs, bagging his noses into my knee cap. Thankfully his mother's genes he didn't bleed but did start to cry, I picked him up and kissed him on where it 'hurt,' and walked back to his beautiful mother. "Hey," we both said at the same time kissing each other. "I have lunch in the bottom of the pram," Kara told me with a smile, "Good I'm Hungry" I replied smiling "Owen, bud put these back on please," Kara asked her son. "No" he replied, trying to wiggle out of my arms, almost falling out of my arms, thankfully his super-strength hasn't kicked in. Mine did as well as my parental instincts, I held him close.

"Owen James, put on your glasses now," I tell him, he looks at me and nods, as Kara puts the glasses on Owen. "Now are you hungry" Owen nods "So am I, let's have some lunch," I say as we walk over to a vacant park bench. We all sat down, as kara pulled out the lunch she had Brought. "So how was the interview?" Kara asked me. "Yeah, um they offered me the job right away," I told her with a big smile. "Oh babe well done, when do you start?" She asked me. "Um Monday, I'm with the teacher that is going on maternity leave, week after next," I said with a smile. "I'm so proud of me, maybe we need to find different childcare for Owen," Kara said. "Do you want me to take Owen tomorrow and talk to them?" I asked Kara. "Um yeah if you want, he's going to need to start going full-time next week, I have a busy week and may need to do some travelling," Kara told him. I nod as we eat out lunch, ok well how about I take him now, after lunch and you can sort a few things out, at work?" I asked Kara. "Ok that would be great" Kara replied we a smile, I reach over to squeeze her hand, we look at Owen who has food all over his face. We both chuckle, I help Owen while Kara ate her lunch since she had to be back at the office soon. After we ate lunch Kara said we had an extra few minutes so we decided to take Owen over to the playground so he could have a small play, while I told Kara a few of the questions they asked me in the interview.

As Owen played on the playground, I turned to Kara. "So they asked me a few questions," I said. "What like?" Kara asked as we looked at Owen "if I like aliens" I responded, "And what did you say?" She asked me "Well I told them I didn't mind them, and that they are like all of us, they are refugees that needed a safe planet to live on, but hey they asked me to start working so I can't see what it didn't affect me" I told her with a smile, she smiled back. "Ok, well just make sure that you don't show your true identity of flannels, and jeans, because even though I love the checked shirts and bow ties, not everyone does, because your my man, my mate, no one else, and please don't tell anyone your partner, is me Kara Danvers the young girl who took over Cat Grants position." She told me "Don't worry I won't" I replied taking her by the waist, going her a kiss on the forehead. "Ok I need to go, I'll see you later, and good luck at the daycare," I tell him, reminding him that he had to go to the daycare. "Um, I actually need the car or at least  to the DEO so I can use once of their cars?" I asked. She nods "Ok lets get Owen at take you to the DEO. We walk up to Owen and try and get him off the play ground but he kicks and screams

"Owen James" Kara shouts at him like she is angry I help get him down but he kicks and his me screaming not wanting to get down. "Come on bud, we need to take you to daycare," I say trying to take him down, but he just hit and kicked me as well. "NOOOOO" he screamed. I picked him up holding him tight. I placed him in a special DEO made pram so he wouldn't be able to break free from the pram. We walked back to her car and all got in driving to the DEO.
