Luhan gave out another sigh, his expression down cast. "It's your little brother." Jiyoon frowned, wondering if she had heard right. For a second there, she thought it was going to be one of the members and so she had built up a defence, but it came crashing down when she heard the word 'brother'.

"What?" She asked, unsure if he was speaking the truth. She wanted to double check that she hadn't just hallucinated that. "My brother?"

Luhan nodded, "He got into a car accident when he was crossing the road heading to his sport practice. The driver was drunk and because of that, he was speeding and .... Yeah," Luhan trailed off, unable to finish the sentence. It was obvious enough.

Jiyoon looked up from her hands to his face, "Then how come my parents called you first?"

"Well, they were panicking when they called me and they thought it'd be better if another adult went with you, since they were both busy with work. Your mum said it was best if I was there to comfort you as well." He rubbed the back of neck embarrassed, a light tint of pink on his cheeks.

She nodded, looking back down at her hands. Her brother seemed to be unconscious, and she didn't want to wake him either, though she wanted to know if he really was okay. Luhan pulled her closer by her shoulders, wrapping her in his embrace and sharing their warmth. To his eyes, Jiyoon looked as if she was holding back her tears of relief; he gently pushed her face into the space between his neck and shoulder, quietly whispering into her ear, "Let out your tears, it's okay now. Your brother is fine."

Jiyoon didn't make a sound, but Luhan could feel his shirt slowly being dampened. He simply patted her head and rubbed her back until she calmed down. A nurse had walked by, seeing the two like that and had come back with a tissue box and a cup of water in hand, asking, "Are you the family members of Park Jihoo?"

Luhan nodded when Jiyoon remained unresponsive. "Okay, then I'll go get Doctor Kim."

When Jiyoon finally lifted her face from his shoulder after several minutes of sniffling, Luhan pulled a few tissues out to wipe the remaining tears from her face before handing her the cup of water. "Better?" He asked, when she downed the whole cup. Jiyoon just nodded.

Her puffy eyes and red cheeks made Jiyoon look adorable in Luhan's opinion, but he kept that to himself knowing she would most likely get angry.

He stood up, pulling her with him and opened the door to her brother's room, "Come on, let's go inside. Jihoo's awake now with the doctor." Luhan pulled her inside, and sat her down at the chair beside the bed. He went and pulled another chair over next to hers.

Jihoo lay awake and smiled when he saw his sister come inside. Contrary to his situation, he seemed to be himself - bright and happy as usual after waking up. "Look, look! I have a cast on my leg! It's so cool, right? Now my friends can all sign it and oh yeah, you guys can sign it too if you want!" Jihoo seemed to almost be bouncing on the bed, as he pointed to his left leg. "Doctor Kim! Can I go home yet?"

Doctor Kim chuckled and patted the little boy's shoulder, "Not yet. We still have to do some tests on your leg since you're awake now, but you'll most likely go home tomorrow." She gave him another firm pat before turning to Jiyoon and Luhan. "Are you his family?"

"Yes, I'm his sister. And this is..." Jiyoon didn't know how to introduce Luhan, and turned to look up at him.

"Boyfriend. I'm Jiyoon's boyfriend," he smiled.

"Haha, of course I know who you are. You're a member of EXO. Though I can't really say I know your name, since there are so many of you! Anyways, you two can go home rest assured since Jihoo will be staying overnight just in case." Doctor Kim picked up her clipboard and waved, leaving them three to chat.

After leaving the hospital and contacting her parents, Jiyoon felt much more at ease, knowing that her brother was okay. She heaved a sigh and stretched her arms, the tension from moments before leaving her body. "I'm glad Jihoo isn't in some sort of coma at least," she said, turning to slip her hand into Luhan's, "You nearly scared me to death when you called me. You were all mysterious and silent."

He ran his free hand through his hair and looked up at the clear sky, "Well, I couldn't believe it either when your parents called me. I was pretty scared too. Though I still wonder how the hospital finds out the information about who to call."

"You do realise that Jihoo has his name and contact information on his bags and sport equipment," Jiyoon gave him a scrutinising stare, "Wow, you can be so dense sometimes."

"What? It's not like everyone labels their things," Luhan rolled his eyes.

"Well, you probably should. You do live in a dorm with eleven other guys. Wait. Don't tell me. You all share your stuff?"

They both burst out laughing, "Oh my gosh, who do you share with?" Jiyoon asked, giving Luhan the once-over look. "I mean, who can actually fit into your clothes?"

"You," Luhan pulled her closer by her waist and kissed the top of her head, causing her to smack him on the arm even as she smiled widely. Mission: make Jiyoon smile accomplished, he thought.

As soon as they arrived home, Luhan's phone began to ring incessantly. When Jiyoon turned back to see what was happening, he simply gestured for her to go upstairs first, "I'm just gonna get this call first," he said, giving her a peck on the forehead and urging her upwards.

He pulled out his phone from his coat pocket and checked the caller ID; it was their manager. "Hello?"

"Luhan, you're the oldest chinese member here, so I need you to do something for me," the voice on the other side urged. Manager sounds panicked, he thought.

"Sure, what's up?"

"I need you to go to the hospital," Manager said, "it's the one you guys always go to."

Okay, now this is getting weird, Luhan frowned, "What's happened? Who's being hospitalised?"

"It's Kris." The reply shocked him; Kris was always hardworking but took care of his health as much as Suho did. They were the leaders after all.

"What? Are you sure?" Luhan asked, hoping he had misheard somehow.

"Yes. I need you to hurry there. I'm currently busy dealing with the media issues right now, so I can't go even if I wanted to. I'll tell the rest of your members later. Just call me when Kris wakes up. I'll text you the details, okay?" The end tone sounded, leaving Luhan in a silence punctuated by the measured beeping from his phone. He turned off the device, pocketed it and headed upstairs to find Jiyoon.

He found sitting at her desk, typing away on her laptop. Padding up behind her quietly, Luhan wrapped his arms around her, effectively back-hugging a surprised Jiyoon. She leaned her head back to see his face clearer, "What's wrong? You okay?" she asked, cupping a hand on his cheek as he rested his chin on her right shoulder.

"No, I don't know," he muttered. "Something's come up. And it's bad news."

"Really? What's happened?"

"Kris has been hospitalised."

Jiyoon frowned, undoing Luhan's arms and standing up to pull him with her to sit on the bed. "Okay, want to tell me how it happened?"

"I don't actually know. But I have to go to the hospital now to see if he's okay. Manager said he couldn't since he's too busy."

"Then I'll go with you. Since you came with me today to see me brother and even comforted me, it's time for me to return my thanks." Jiyoon moved to a kneeling positing, the bed dipping under her weight, as she pulled Luhan into a hug.

"Thanks," Luhan mumbled into her shirt, breathing in the scent that was uniquely Jiyoon.

It was this one single incident that brought on a change that shook their world. They didn't yet know the future, but what it did hold was something they never expected to happen. Kris was leaving.
