Saturday finally comes and we have a day to ourselves.

While the contestance are focused on figuring out that obnoxious egg, I decide a outing is needed.

We spend all the time in the school, I figured we need some time outside and enjoying friendship.

"Lilly, Jude, why aren't your bags packed? I thought we were going for a hike?" I question them.

"Oh yea, we actually realized we are behind on a project. You go with the boys though. I'm sure those three could use some education." Lilly smiles innocently.

"Right. I take that as you don't want me to stay?" I raise an eyebrow.

I know we don't have any projects right now. But maybe just behind in some studies.

"No. You go and have fun." Jude smiles.

I sigh and grab a muffin on my way out. As I get to the Slytherin entrance, someone stops me with a firm hand.

I look at the boy confused, "Can I help you?"

"You could do so much better then the Malfoy. I could show you a real good time." He says smoothly.

I scowl and yank away, "No. You couldn't. You don't even know what a good time to me is."

"What, I ment.." he starts, but is cut off.

"You wanna finish that Jackson?" Draco snaps.

"I... You... No.." the boy seems to loose all courage and rushes off.

I smile at Draco, "I could have handled that... Thank you though."

"Of course. Where are your friends?" He questions looking behind me some and smirking.

"Fell behind on an assignment and stayed behind. What about yours?" I return the question.

"Same... That's odd. Don't suppose they all are conspiring now?" He says smoothly making my heart sputter.

"It's slightly possible... but coincidences can happen. Ready to go?" I smile innocently.

"Yeah, let's..." He starts.

"Not without me!" Pansy jumps in as she runs out the common room. "Sorry I'm late!"

"Not a problem! Let's go." I smile softly. Draco seems annoyed but goes with it.

We head out onto a wooded path that not many know about. As we walk about I point out different creatures that are common to the local woods as well as creatures brought here for classes.

Draco seems rather interested in them as I talk about what they are.

"Oh come on! We've been looking at animals for like an hour! You nerds are getting boring." Pansy whines.

I look to her and raise a brow, "We are just about to come out at the Great Lake. Beautiful spot really. If your bored you can head back. We will understand. Right?" I ask and look to Draco.

"Of course." He shrugs.

"Whatever. Hope the mermaids in there get you two. Dragging me out for this was lame." She snaps and walks off.

I'm honestly grateful she is gone. And Draco looks it too.

After she is out of earshot I look at Draco, "Really think mermaids are in the lake?"

"I don't want to know. They are supposed to be vicious." He replies.

"Just territorial. Reminds me of a certain someone yet again..." I joke.

"Oh hush. Show me this view already." He starts walking again.

As we walk out to a small lakefront beach I smile. "Welcome to my little get away. Far enough out nobody wants to find me even if they have to."

"Really now?" Draco looks to me.

"No. But that makes it sound fancier." I smirk.

He chuckles and shakes his head some, looking out at the view.

Sitting down Draco and I spend some time just watching the water in silence.

Then he speaks up, "How are you Y/n?"

"Hm? Oh, I'm alright. You?" I turn to him.

"I've been good. Glad to hear you are doing ok." He nods.

"You've been causing problems for Potter again." I comment.

"Don't. Not now. Not here." He snaps.

I nod some and look back out. He always was touchy about Potter.

"I did want to ask you something..." Draco suddenly says.

"Yes?" I look to him.

"Would you like to join me to the Yule Ball?" He looks at me, biting his lip softly.

"I would love to." I smile brightly.

He smiles back, a rare genuine smile that's just for me. I lay my head on his shoulder with a sigh of content and his arm wraps around my back, holding me close.

After a shot while longer we head back to the castle and start making plans for it.
