When Octavia told her that she'd seen Drew, Valentina had pretended to laugh with her, pretending to brush it off, when really she was raging inside.

First off all, Drew was supposed to be in America, he'd told her, last night when she visited him, the evening where Aurelia was reported missing. So what on earth was he doing in London?

Valentina gripped the steering wheel. It was already humiliating that he'd broken up with her, but for him to lie to her? That was low, even for Drew.

God, she was just sick of this. Everything had been okay before Aurelia had to go missing. Her life wasn't perfect, it never would be, it didn't matter how much money she had, but she was feeling alright about life.

She'd hooked up with Drew, cut her hair, learned how to drive and spent many nights on the roof of her school downing cherry wine and talking shit with Octavia and Aurelia.

All of a sudden, a sadness washed over her, and Valentina could feel tears pricking her eyes. She wiped her eyes with the back of her hand and pulled over to a random car park. She never cried, she wasn't one of those girls, but this entire situation hurt her so much, especially as she was so used to putting on a hard exterior, sometimes it all came crashing down.

Valentina checked her reflection in the rear view mirror. Of course, she still looked pretty, if not, slightly troubled. She could work with that.

She was just brushing a stray eyelash off of her cheek, when she noticed someone behind her, in a beaten up Mini, their head held low so Valentina couldn't see who it was.

But Valentina could recognise that scruffy, dirty blond hair anywhere.

It was Drew.
