Kova's eyes snapped open, her head jerked as bright light filled her eyes. A yell of joy filled her ears, turning her head to see Thayer who was stood at the end of the bed a huge smile plastered in his face.

Kova move almost without thought threw herself into her best friend/ cousin's arms. His bronze wings wrapped around her. "Good to see you awake, cousin" he teased, stressing the last word. She laughed, her legs taking her weight she stumbled.

"Woah! Careful shorty! You haven't used those in a month"
"A month!" kova gasped, Thayer nodded the smile sliding off his face,
"You were in a coma"
"Where's Ash?" Thayer chuckled, "Downstairs. He's going to be so cross that he wasn't here to see you wake" Kova felt the mating bond but didn't send anything down it, she kept it still. Her mouth twitched upwards,
"You're cruel" Thayer laughed as he looked at her,
"No I'm simply going to surprise him" she said as she tugged hard on the mating bond.

A roar sounded from below them and the sound of multiple footsteps sprinting up the stairs. A wink at Thayer had Kova disappearing into shadows. "You little witch Kova!" Thayer half yelled, half whispered.

Ash knocked the door off his hinges as he burst into the room, wings spread wide. Behind him the inner circle more gracefully and calmly, entered into the room.
"Where is she?" Ash demanded as he took in the empty bed, before Thayer could open his mouth Ash as pined him on the bed, straddling him.

Kova allowed herself to become visible again, her laughter sounding through the room. "Really Asher I'm hurt that you'd rather have Thayer in bed than me". Ash spun, off the bed in a blink looking at Kova, his eyes burning. His eyes swept her clothes, fresh Illyrian leathers, before meeting her eyes.

He quite literally pounced on her, grabbing her waist and wrist, widowing them out of the town house.

They appeared on the bridge over looking the water. The rainbow to their left. "Kova" Ash's voice was deep and guttural, it sent shivers down her spine. She had no words for him so she threw her arms round him tightly. He responded to her touch instantly, holding her so tightly as if he were to left go of her he would fall off the edge of the world.

"Never scare me like that again!" He yelled,
"You're the one who was stabbed" she yelled back. Both seemed to be seething at the other but neither could let the other go. He leaned back looking into her face, a hand cupped her cheek, she applied gentle pressure to his hand smiling at him. His emerald eyes darkened, "You're beautiful" he breathed, "I've never told you, but when I first saw you I thought you were the most beautiful Fae I had ever seen" his voice held no lie, his time told her he was telling the truth. "I'm sure you said that to many girls" she teased her voice sounding breathless.

"Only to my mate" his lips met hers more gently than she could have imagined. There was no force or anger, only tender love, as if she were glass. Her hands curled around the back of his neck pulling him in deeper. "My mate" he mumbled as they pulled away, the light was shining in her eyes, Ash's face thrown into shadows. Her shadows having returned to her spiraled around him, poking his cheeks, "Hey" he groaned as Kova chuckled lightly.

She made to move back slightly when Ash's eyes fell on her again, "Am I that bad?" He teased stepping forward. Kova's back was now against the rail of the bridge, Ash's hands gripped the railing either side of her. She couldn't escape him but instead she took him off guard by leaning up and kissing him. She felt his surprise but then felt him smile and kiss back, harder than before his hands pressed into her back.

"Rhys I found th...OH CAULDRON! ABORD MISSION! Azriel don't look!"

Cassian voice caused the two of them to break apart. Ash's angered growl sounded quietly in her ear. Cassian looked half horrified and half smug as he laughed at them. However Kova's eyes fixed on the man behind him, seven blue siphons adorned his armour. His face broke into a soft smile as I looked back at her.

She ran at him, Cassian opened his arms thinking she was running at him but she leaped around him throwing herself into Azriel's arms.

His wings curled around them as he hugged her tightly, the sound of people widowing onto the bridge and Ash's laugh at Cassian was blocked out, as Azriel brought them into their own private world.

"I'm proud of you" he spoke looking down at her.
"Despite me loosing control"
"It had to happen at some point. I knew what you mother was capable of"
Kova held her breath the words almost slipping off her tongue before she caught them.
Her father gave her a look that clearly told her to just say what she wanted to ask him.

"What was it like to see her again?"
Azriel retracted his arms from around her placing them on her shoulders, a comforting pressure. "Hard"
Kova's shoulders sagged, looking down at the ground.
"But it did make me realise how lucky I am to have you. And how lucky I am for the woman you have become" he tilted her face up to look at him, light danced in his brown eyes.

"She would be proud of you. And proud of how you have dealt with your mate" Kova felt her cheeks grow hot.
"I think she would approve" he smiled and it was a real smile as he threw his arm around her shoulder walking back towards the rest of the inner circle.

Ash appeared at her side almost instantly, his face was happy but his eyes looked a little agitated.

Feyre was beaming at Kova her brown hair sparkling in the winds as she embraced Kova. "Welcome to the family" she gushed.
"Wasn't she always part of the family?" Azriel piped up looking at Rhys but the High Lord only laughed. Patting Kova on the shoulder in a silent display of gratitude but also affection.

He murmured something into Feyre's ear. Feyre smiled but a blush covered her cheeks. "Cassian, Nesta wants to talk to you" She turned to the general, "In the library"
"But that's at the other end of Valaris!" He exclaimed
"So get going" Mor laughed, Cassian spread his wings leaping into the air.

Feyre and Rhys looked at Azriel who simply raised an eyebrow, "Should I be worried?"

"No" Feyre reassured,
"Yes" Rhys smiled,

"We're kidnapping you!" Feyre yelled jumping onto Azriel while Rhys simply flicked his hand the three of them disappearing.

"Do you trust me" Ash extended a hand, Kova looked at him. A choice. She had a choice. No force. Her choice.

She took his hand.
