Ch. 19- Cheating (Itachi Special)

Itachi POV

(Name) and I have been happy together for almost a month. We're about to hit our one month Anniversary soon, but I didn't know if it was special enough to actually plan something or not. We've spent every single day together and I've tried to make everyday special for her. I wanted to keep her happy the best way I could.

But lately I feel like she's been focusing on something else. (Name) hasn't been reacting the same to my gestures like usual. Just the other day when we were studying in our secret place, I put a flower behind her ear and kissed her cheek. Now usually she'd blush or hug me while telling me either how much she loved me or how great of a boyfriend I am. But all she did was smile, kiss my cheek and return her attention back to her laptop. Either I'm becoming too predictable or something else is catching (Name)'s attention.

"Itachi."

"Hn." I snapped out of my thoughts as Pain called my name. I completely forgot I was in a meeting at the Akatsuki house. Everyone wasn't even really paying attention so I didn't care too much.

"Will you participate in tomorrow's festivities? We need this fundraiser in order to raise money for our future events." Pain asked as he was writing in his book to keep track of what events members participate in. I honestly haven't been to any fundraisers that the Akatsuki has hosted, but I guess by the look on Pain's face I don't have much of a choice.

"Where and what time?" I sighed in annoyance. If it wasn't for the fact (Name) was busy with other things then I'd be spoiling her as we speak. Pain handed me the flyer that said 'Infinite Tsukuyomi: Eternal festival of dreams'.

"Your shift is from 6-7pm. After that Kakazu will take over. You'll just handling the tickets to enter, since this only a campus exclusive event. Make sure everyone who enters pays admission. Everyone will work security while Nagato, Konan, and myself will handle organizing the stands in the event. Understood?" Pain spoke as he continued to write down his plans for the festival. All I heard was some groans and protests in response.

"Look boss, I have some plans with some honeys. I can't attend-" Hidan started but was cut off by Pain's death glare.

"You have no choice."

"Wait! I was going to take Rin to the festival-" Obito tried to beg but was cut off as Pain's glare was directed to him, causing Obito to laugh nervously.

"Take her after your shift. You all will work, there will be more effort put forth into this organization. Otherwise we will be shut down for the year. Do I make myself clear?" Pain spoke sternly as he slammed his journal on the meeting table, all with a straight face. Everyone either nodded in agreement or just groaned. I swear this organization will be the death of me.

"Dismissed."

~ Time Skip ~

I was walking around campus square trying to call (Name). She wasn't answering her phone which was unusual. I sat by the college founders statue of Otsutsuki Hagoromo and sighed. Maybe her phone is dead or she's tending to something important. My mind started wandering with possibilities until I thought about... (Name) cheating. I shook the thought out of my head. (Name) would never do that to me, she isn't that type of person. But then what was the reason behind her weird behavior?
