We both sat in a comfortable silence on the way to work, every once in I would sneak a glance and see her staring out the window humming a soft tune to herself.
Looking forward, I noticed we were almost at the large stone building I call work.
When we finally arrived, I got out first and jogged to her side opening the door for her before she could.
She gave me a playful scowl but I only chuckled at her.
She hopped out throwing her black leather bag over her shoulder, wringing her fingers together.
Pulling her hand into mine, I practically enveloped it with my own.
I let a small smile arise on my lips before shaking my head and pulling her towards the elevator.
Just as I was about to push button thirteen which was my personal work level which would now be Lacy's aswell, I heard an annoying high pitcher voice call out.
"Hold the elevator!"
Lacy being an actual good person, she stuck her hand out and in pranced a little sl*t named Nancy.
I pulled a look of disgust as she licked her lips and checked me out. When her eyes landed on mine and Lacy's hands combined, she huffed out pushing number ten.
She looked Lacy up and down before fake coughing and saying "Sk*nk" in the middle of it.
I was about to explode when Lacy looked her up and down and sneered at her.
"I suggest you get a bra that's two sizes down, it's bad for your back when you where bra's that aren't the right size, it also makes you look like a 'sk*nk' and no man wants that."
Nancy looked taken aback by her words but she quickly wiped it from her face looking confident again.
I was still trying not to laugh.
"This is the right size bra, and your man seemed to like it." she spat at her.
Lacy was not having it.
"Well, if 'my man' seemed to like it, why is he next to me and not you? Oh, also, I'm pretty sure that's why your baby daddy didn't want you anymore. Ya know being a 'sk*nk' and all." Lacy replied placing a hand on her hip.
It was then that the elevator dinged and the doors opened at floor ten.
Nancy huffed and strutted out, her ego was clearly bruised.
I smashed number thirteen and as soon as the doors closed me and Lacy just burst into a fit of giggles and laughs.
That was to good.
She's the first person to ever stand up to her.
I finally gained my composure and so did Lacy.
I looked at her before nodding in approval which made her blush.
I chuckled softly and walked out the elevator dragging her along with me before pushing her into my office, past the guard that stood out there.
"You know, that was kinda hot." I told her hoping she would blush.
But she didn't.
"Well I do try." she smirked at me.
"Where did all this confidence come from baby girl?" I asked as I sat down behind my desk while shrugging my suit jacket off.
"I have no idea but don't call me that, it's weird." she said as she placed her bag down beside the chair she was sitting on.
"Its weird, or it makes you feel weird?" I asked with a devilish smirk on my face.
"It's weird, now get your head out of the damn gutter." she replied with a blush creeping up her neck to her cheeks.
"So, what do you want me to do?" she asked as she looked over at me.
"First of all, we need ground rules.
1) when I ask you to do something, you do it. Don't question it.
2) don't question me. I don't like it.
3) I like my coffee with no milk but with three sugars.
4) in meetings, you don't talk unless spoken to. Otherwise just take notes or if its not important just sit still and look pretty. But not to pretty. I don't want my colleagues staring at you like I do.
5) no flirting with anyone but me.
6) you eat lunch with me or if I'm busy find a female friend or something.
Those are all the rules I can think of now. What you have to do is a bit different ok.
So what your job is, is to just tell me about my meetings and sh*t. Oh, also your gonna have to take some phone calls. Get me coffee every half an hour as well. Got it?" I asked.
My little Angel looked a little shocked at first but she slowly nodded and wrote a few things in a note book she had on her lap.
"Ok."
Right as she said that, there appeared to be a big commotion outside.
"IF YOU DON'T MOVE YOU BIG FILTHY SH*TTY ASS NOW, I WILL MAKE SURE YOU END UP SIX FEET UNDER! LET ME SEE MY BROTHER!"
"Ma'am Mr Gomez is busy at the moment."
"DO I LOOK LIKE I GIVE A FLYING F*CK?! LET ME SEE MY *SS HAT OFF A BROTHER!"
Oh, well looks like Cameron's here.
Lacy looked confused and concerned before I stood up and opened the door only to be shoulder barged by my younger sister.
I turned and as I looked at her, she looked shocked, happy and absolutely confused.
"OH MY GOD LACY!" she yelled dropping the bag and tackling my new assistant off her chair.
"HI TO YOU TOO RED!" Lacy yelled as she held onto my sister for dear life.
"Errrmm. Is there something I'm missing?" I asked as I went back and sat behind my desk as the two rolled around on the floor hugging the dear life out of each other.
"Wait, how do you guys know each other?" Lacy asked suddenly.
"Unfortunately that's my a**hole of a brother I was telling you about. How do you two know each other?" Cameron quizzed as she stood up dusting herself off.
"That's my a**hole of a friend slash boss I was telling you about." Lacy replied. "Wait, brother?" she coughed out.
"Yup." Cameron stated.
I sent Lacy an icy glare as she stood up.
"What did you call me?" I asked her.
"Errrrmmm... Nothing?" she squeaked.
"That's what I thought." I spoke.
I turned back to Cameron.
"So to what do I owe the pleasure of having you here dear sister?" I asked as I leant on my hand.
"Oh right!" She said and picked the bag up from the floor.
I smiled as she handed it me.
"Happy birthday for next weekend!" she shouted happily as she bounced.
"Thank you." I said softly as I kissed her cheek.
"Right I gotta go now, but we still on for tonight?" she asked towards Lacy as she began to walk to the door.
"Sure. I need a dress actually." she replied thoughtfully.
"We'll meet up when you get off work and go shopping!" Cameron practically sang.
"Where are you guys going?" I asked Cameron feeling confused.
"We're going to one of your clubs in hopes of getting this one..." she began pointing towards Lacy. "Some d*ck." She sang as she walked out the room and left the building.
I growled and whipped my head towards Lacy. She shrunk back into her seat and audibly gulped.
What.
The.
F*ck?
