Question: Tea or Coffee?

Prologue - June 10th

Its 2 am. A phone call stirs Eliza from her light sleep. Groaning, she reluctantly picks it up. The four words on the other end immediately awaken her, "We need you again," the call ends abruptly. She gets ready and out the door in roughly ten minutes, taking her gun and blade. Her feet tiptoe across the apartment to not awaken her best friend and roommate Nathan. She was back around 6 am with breakfast and starts setting the table completely forgetting about the rather noticeably large blood stain on her shirt. Eliza messed up this time. It was supposed to be quick. Clean. Easy. She didn't expect to miss. She wasn't even sure she succeeded.

"I'm starving. What's for breakfast?" A tired-sounding voice says entering the room.

Eliza smiled. Nathan always entered just in time when it came to breakfast.

"Food," she responds simply.

"Right. Thanks. How specific," he retorts sarcastically and was about to roll his eyes when he sees Eliza's shirt.

"What happened?" He asks worriedly and runs to her, thinking she's injured but slows down when he realizes the blood isn't hers.

"Eliza..." he demands in a 'you better explain now' voice, "Is that blood from a dead body?"

She snickered in response, "what body.."

"Hmm.. oh I don't know maybe someone you killed," Nathan continues sarcastically.

"This really scrambles my eggs," Eliza mutters to herself. She knew she should have cleaned up beforehand. Today was not going well.
"Look its not blood," Eliza says seriously.

"It is. I can see it," Nathan deadpanned.

"Okay, okay. I promise I'll clean it up before breakfast," she replied, biting her lip nervously, "please don't be mad."

"Eliza I thought you gave up being an assassin years ago," Nathan says as he sits down and takes a bagel from the bag Eliza brought.

"I did. I swear, but then I got this phone call and things got complicated." Eliza replies begging in her mind for him to understand, "They said I have a debt, Nathan. It was one more job and I was free from them. Free from R.I.O.T forever."
