Kai was working on making new identities for the four of them while Kelsi and Nathan were gone. He wasn't quite sure why he let his sister go with him, especially since he had a feeling that Nathan hadn't taken a liking to him in the short time they've known each other. To his dismay, Kelsi insisted since Eliza had fallen asleep on the couch after driving them. Suddenly, he heard Eliza muttering in her sleep. She sounded panicked so Kai decided to wake her which he soon regretted.
"Nathan?" she whispered out, her eyes still closed as Kai shook her lightly.
"Not quite," he responded.
After that, the next moment was a blur to him. Eliza's eyes immediately shot open as she became hyper-vigilant. Flipping him over so he was under him on the couch, she reached into the side cushions and pulled out a gun.
"You have to stop doing that," he groaned out becoming unfazed by the gun. He knew Eliza would never shoot him.
"Back at you. Stop sneaking up on me," she said, moving his legs so she could sit next to him.
"How many guns do you have stashed in this place?" he asked curiously.
"Too many to count. Several under the left sides of beds, counters, tables and one in this couch," she responded putting the weapon back in its place, "If you ever get held at gunpoint, you'll know what to do."
"Uh, I'm not left-handed," he chuckled out hesitantly.
"Then you'll die," she deadpanned.
The conversation was interrupted by Nathan and Kelsi entering the house.
"We brought food," Nathan said.
"Sandwiches," Eliza said smiling while taking the bag from him.
"We need to come up with a plan," Kelsi said while they were eating.
"Giselle gave us 3 days. If Emmerson isn't dead by then, we will be and another assassin will be given the job," Eliza added.
"I mean can't we fake his death?" Nathan suggested.
"Well, unlike you, Giselle doesn't have negative IQ and she'll figure it out eventually if not on the spot," Eliza retorted.
"Uncalled for," Nathan whispered to himself while the twins laughed.
"Kidnap him," Kelsi said after some silence.
"So first you conned pretty boy and now you want to kidnap him?" Kai asked dumbfounded.
"We can protect him. Once he's out of harm's way, we can decide what to do next," she responded.
"We might be able to find out why R.I.O.T is after him too," Eliza agreed, "plus, it sounds fun."
"After the stabbing, his security must have increased," Nathan said.
"Then we'll have to bait him and I know just the thing."
...
Emmerson was struggling to focus on his work as his thoughts kept shifting back to Alana. Although he stopped talking to his father after their last confrontation, he was still kept with a strict security detail. He decided to hire a private investigator, Mr. John Edwards to find Alana.
They were both in his office for privacy reasons. It was quite large and modern with a dark blue leather chair, a cabinet behind him, work desk in front and a couch on the side where the investigator sat.
"Well, did you find anything?" he asked Mr. Edwards.
"Not much. Using the name, description and security footage you gave me, I couldn't find any matches. The name's a fake and if there is anything about her, it wouldn't be recent. However, I did track her with the phone number to an apartment just at the city's borders."
