"Sometimes I have to realize,
I can't save everyone.
Sometimes I have to remind myself,
I am not an all-powerful being."
The princess sighs, leaning over the balcony,
staring down at the villages below.
There were many attacks here.
Many deaths, too.
She regrets all she could not save,
although the survivors have long moved on.
People from far away have heard her story,
and come to ask her for help.
She always answers to their pleas.
But...
"Sometimes I have to remind myself,
enough is enough.
Sometimes I have to ask myself,
whose princess am I, anyway?"
The princess recalls all the places she's been,
and the things she's seen.
Things she could not forgive and tried to help.
She ended up hurting herself.
Were they all worth it?
Shouldn't she stop nosing her way into other people's problems
and go protect her own country?
"Sometimes I have to tell myself,
it's okay to let them go.
Whose princess am I, anyway?
Not yours'."
The princess turns around
facing three townsmen who came to ask her help.
They came all the way from another world,
because their royalty is corrupt,
and the king went into hiding and won't come out.
They heard about the princess,
and all her good deeds,
and about how helpful she is.
But enough is enough.
"Return to your country,
do not come back.
I am not your princess."
The princess sighs, leaning over the balcony,
the townsmen are still there.
They refuse to leave.
She calls for her butler and guard,
ordering them to take the townsmen away.
The butler and guard forcefully teleport them
back from whence they came.
"Sometimes I have to realize,
I can't save everyone."
It pains her to do this,
but enough is enough.
