Chapter.10: Pumpkin

~ Taehyung ~

Taehyung ran outside of the building to his car.
He hoped in, started the engine and made his way to you.

It wasn't a long drive, he would be at your work in ten minutes. He looked at his phone, it was 19:55 o'clock.

'Within five minutes, she will be done with work.' Taehyung said to himself.
He put his phone away and drove to the cafe.

Ten minutes later, Taehyung parked his car at the parking lot near the cafe. He stepped out of his car and closed the door. The rain was still falling out of the sky. Taehyung zipped his jacket up and put on his hoodie.

He walked to the cafe. The little bell above the door ringed when he opened the door.
Taehyung looked around the cafe, but he didn't saw you.

'She's already walking home, Taehyung.' A girls voice said. Taehyung turned around and saw Katie.

'Oh, hi Katie.' Taehyung said. 'Which way did she go?'

'I'm not sure.' Katie responded.

'The normal route, through the by-street. You can't miss it.' An other voice said from the kitchen.

Taehyung stepped a little forward and saw Thomas. 'Thanks, mate. Well, I will go then. See you later guys.'

'Bye, Taehyung.' Both Katie and Thomas said in harmony.

Taehyung walked out of the cafe and looked around to see where the by-street was.

His eyes fell on a dark sort of alley. I guess that must be it.

With his hoodie still on, he walked towards the dark by-street.

When he came closer, he heard some voices. It wasn't clear what they said, but it sounded like someone didn't want something.

Careful, Taehyung walked closer to the voices. He hide himself behind a bench that stood in front of the by-street.

He couldn't see that much. It was dark and that part of the street wasn't light up like the big main street was.

The only thing he saw were two figures who were standing close to each other.
One taller than the other. And because of the mumbled sounds they were making, Taehyung could clearly hear a woman's voice and a man's voice.

Taehyung watched with eager and confused eyes to the event.
He saw that the smaller one, the woman he guessed, took her phone out of her pocket. Taehyung could hear she endangered him.

That voice sounds familiar.

Taehyung kept on watching. He knew he had the do something, but he didn't know what.
The taller man took the phone out of the woman's hand. That was the moment Taehyung had to do something. He jumped out of his hiding spot and fast walked to the two figures.

But he was already too late.
The man slapped the woman in her face, she stumbled backward and hit her head. She fell in the ground and didn't move.

Taehyung was in shock but didn't hesitate to let his fists dance of the man's face.
The first one was on the side of the man's head, the second one was on his nose, and the third one on the jaw.
The man stumbled backward and fell on the ground.

Taehyung waved with his hands. 'Damn, that hurts.' He whispered to himself.

He turned around to look at the woman who was laying, blackout, on the ground.
He kneeled down to see better if she was okay, but almost got a heart attack when he saw who she was.

It was you. Y/N. His sweet little Pumpkin.

Immediately tears were streaming out of Taehyungs eyes. He picked you up and put you onto his lap.
'It will be okay, Pumpkin. I'm so sorry.' He cried out.

He took his own phone from his pocket and called the police. He told them what happened and they said they will be there soon.
