Chapter 7

Monday Morning

Moonlight POV

My alarm clock ringing in my ear at 6:30 am, don't know about you but I would rather sleep in.

"Welp, the first day of high school, well school in general for nine long years of being homeschooled."

I heard the doorbell, knowing who it was I put my slippers on before walking towards the door to see my two best friends that I kept in contact with since I was 8. They helped me do things as well as my Aunt. They are both sisters with 11 months apart. The eldest, Ava, is already 17, she turned 17 last year while Emma and myself are both 16. Emma turns 17 after me, though; she's one of the youngest in our year. I opened the door, and they both tackled me to the ground.

"We missed you," Ava said

"OMG. I missed you too, now Get Off Me" I said trying to push them off

"But we need to get you ready" Emma responded

"Yeah, that would be a good idea" they both pushed me back up the stairs trying to get back into my bedroom as fast as they could push me

"WOW guys, I need a shower. Look in my wardrobe for clothes. Nothing over the top please" I didn't wait for their response as I already shut the door of my en-suite. After 15 minutes in the shower, I come out with a towel wrapped around me.

"Here, try this on" I didn't even step in my bedroom before I had clothes thrown at me. I got dressed quickly before opening the door again. Emma pushed me back into the bathroom to sit on a chair while she did my hair. She wanted me to have an up hairstyle since it went with my style.

Once I was fashionable for Emma and Ava, we went downstairs where Aunt Amy was cooking breakfast.

"Hey, Aunt Amy. What you are making."

"Waffles. It's your first year back in 9 years, so I went all out."

"AUNTIE" both Ava and Emma screamed before tackling her in a big hug as well

"Guys. My eardrums" I complained

"Oldie" Ava Mumbled

"Hey. I heard that"

"Good. You were supposed to"

After breakfast, we all got in the car. Me in the backseat since there was more room. I can't believe I'm going back to school; it's been like a dream come true. I'm finally going to be healthy again. Well, I will never be entirely normal, ever again.

"What are you thinking?" Ava asked

"Uh. Oh nothing"

They didn't say anything after that. They knew I needed a bit of space. Once the car stopped in front of my new school, 'Lake High School.' I quickly put on my sunglasses before opening the door. Ava and Emma both came to my side before sliding their arms through mine. We walked into the school, and I could hear a lot of noise. Some stopped, pretty sure to look at me, the new kid.

We were walking towards the principal's office to get my new schedule that is in Braille. While walking back, I heard a deep voice call my name. I would know that voice anywhere. I stopped in my tracks before turning around.

"Moonlight?"
