Ava POV
Walking into the school building, looking for Ashton with a glare on my face made people aware of me and quickly moved out of my way. I found Ashton at his locker. Luckily where I was, was the way I could lock the locker.
Stomping over, getting in front him to slam the locker shut, I looked at him. No, I glared. I glared hard.
"You nearly took off my fingers Ava."
"I don't care Ashton" I gritted my teeth, "your girl is out there crying, no, sobbing her as* off and you didn't even come to see if she was alright."
"Ava.."
"So what if she's freaking blind? She had to deal with what no 8 year old should have to deal with, hell, what no one should deal with. All in the same day she lost both her parents and her ability to see... anything ever again, especially how beautiful she is."
Ashton didn't say anything after that. I don't know if he was scared or upset.
"Cat got your tongue?" I asked. A teardrop came out of his eye before wiping it and disappearing into the crowd. I stood there, in front of his locker, shaking my head hike my hand went to come to my forehead to compress my headache that was coming.
Walking back outside, I couldn't hear crying, so I'm guessing Emma calmed her down. Coming to the car I was Moon still on the floor and Emma had her walking stick out.
"Where did you get that?" I asked
"Moon had it in her bag."
I nodded my head, indicating that I heard her. I crouched down beside Moonlight were her nose was still runny. I put my arm around her while I leaned into her. Our heads were together with me, trying to comfort her.
"Did you speak to him" she whispered
I sighed, "Yeah."
"Did you give him your famous glare?"
"I have a famous glare?" I asked
"You mastered it when you were 6"
"Then, yes. I did my famous glare."
"How about we clean you up and go to the principal's office?"
She nodded her head as she took her glasses off. One glance at her face and you could tell she was sobbing for about 15 minutes.
Cleaning her up the best we could, helping her up and putting her glasses back on she asked for her cane. Emma and I both looked at each other before handing her the cane.
Going into the building was weird for us as we never see Moonlight with her cane. Seeing her behind us walking by herself while listening to us walk, or sometimes talk was the way she knew she was going.
Stopping in front of the principal's office before knocking, I looked back to Moonlight. She nodded her head like she knew I was looking at her. Once knocking and the principal answering, he looked at us before looking at moon in the background.
"Come in ladies," he said, mostly looking at Moon. As he sat down in his chair, he gestured us to sit down. As there were only two chairs, I let Moon take one.
"What can I do for you today?" He asked
"Would it be alright if we study in the library the whole day? Moon has already learned the work so if the teachers had worksheets we could read the question, her respond and is write it down" I stated
"What classes do you have today?" He asked Emma and me.
"I have English, Maths, Science, and Gym. English I have a report I can do. Maths is finishing questions, Science was note taking and nothing for gym. Same with Moonlight"
"I have Maths, English, Gym, and Science. Same thing with Ava and Moon" Emma said
"I'll let it be known to your teachers that you three will be in the library for all lessons," he said before standing up to see us out
"Thank you Sir" Moonlight smiles while taking her hand in mine towards the library
