Ashton POV

I walked away. I just walked away. She was hurt, and I just walked away. What on earth was I thinking? I wanted her. Hell, I need her. I can't see myself without her. I just made the worse mistake of my life. Walking back into Science class, I couldn't concentrate. 5, 10, 20 whatever minutes it was there was the door flying open. Everyone looked to see Ava fuming and Emma off to the side, looking scared sh*tless.

"Hi Ms. Acqua, Can I talk with Ashton please?" she smiled her evil smile that said 'you are so dead.'

"Oh, Sh*t" I mumble. People started looking back at me whispering or mouthing Good luck. I'm so dead.

"Sure Ava, Ashton," Ms. Acqua said, looking back at me. Sh*t sh*t sh*t. Standing up, I looked at Ben and Luke, who looked like they were about to laugh their heads off. I've never felt so scared in my life. Walking past Ava into the hallway, she still had that smile on her face until she closed the door. Turning around was that glare I was waiting to see. Taking a gulp, I turned to Emma, who was looking at the ground with arms crossed.

"Ashton, Ashton, Ashton," Emma said, taking a step further towards me.

"Uhmm Yes?"

"Why?"

"Why?...." I asked confused

"Why did you need to meet Moon, charm her, show that you care for her all to leave her after she told you she was blind. Why?"

I didn't say anything. I couldn't. I was so mad at myself for how I acted. I looked at the floor, feeling ashamed.

"She likes you Ashton and what you said to her hurt her," Ava said calmly

I looked up to see Ava with tears threatening to fall

"She has been so brave through these past 9 years. I have known her since she was 5" She chuckles at a memory replaying through her brain. "She walked through the doors and tripped right on her face. She got so embarrassed. I helped her up before introducing myself," she walked over to the wall before sliding down and leaning on it.

"Since that day she has been my best friend," Ava said, staring blankly at the lockers in front of her.

Ava POV

It was silent as I stared at the lockers in front of me. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Emma wipe a tear and Ashton make his way over to me before sitting beside me. My phone dinged with a message coming through.

"Hey Ava, Its Amy. Just letting you know that I know you Moon is home. I was in the living room when you dropped her off. She also balled her eyes out when I asked her what's wrong."

I sighed before replying. "Thanks, Amy, for informing me. I'll see you tomorrow morning."

I put my phone down on my lap, closing my eyes. Opening my eyes again, I saw Ashton read my text before a flash of regret wash his eyes.

"I screwed up big, didn't I?" He asked

I pursed my lips, nodding smalls nods before looking over to him with sorry in my eyes.

"I'm only going to ask this once." I spoke, "Do you like her?"

Ashton looked straight into my eyes with so much confidence "I love her"

Amy POV

I texted Ava know that Moon balled her eyes out. She deserved to know. I knew that she would be giving that Ashton the evil eye. An incoming text showed my phone of Ava texting back

"Thanks Amy for informing me. I'll see you tomorrow morning"

I looked down to the sleeping Moonlight that was still on me. I had called Jerry to come home to help me get Moon off of me and into her own bed. It was a few minutes of me staring at how beautifully she looked, just like her mother. The front door opened and there was a Jerry standing there looking at his niece with broken eyes. He has thought of Moon as one of his.

Taking her from my arms, he carried her upstairs, into her bedroom before placing her on the bed. He tucked her in how my does with the boys before giving her a kiss of her forehead. Talking out of her bedroom, closing the door behind us, we both had pain expressions on our faces. We knew she shouldn't have gone to school, but she wanted to go.

The doorbell rang when we were walking down the stairs. Opening it, I saw a tall boy with dirty blond hair and piercing blue eyes. It didn't go unnoticed that he had been crying as well.

"Honey, Who's at the door?" Jerry asked walking to the door

"Ashton"
