After you both first met you became friends and as mentioned in the last scenario you stayed friends, even if you didn't approve the whole 'Deku bullying' and tried to defend the poor bean.
The main thing that started your friendship was your mutual toleration towards one another.
Shoto Todoroki:
When you were a child, you'd often be at the park using your quirk.
No, it wasn't legal but no one said anything because you were just a kid. However, it peeked the interest of the #2 hero. After arranging a meeting between you and Shoto, he convinced your parents to consider a future marriage.
After that, you got to visit Shoto more often and became friends with him.
