The kingdom on which her family reigned was recognized for its particularly destructive weapons. Lot of kingdoms were dreaming to have access to them. She were quite worried about a possible political marriage. Getting wed wasn't a dear wish of hers...

The sunlight getting through your curtains hitting her skin woke her up. She reluctantly stretched in bed, deep down wishing she didn't have to leave it. For a moment she thought of simply closing her eyes again but sadly for her life had other plans as someone knocked on her bedroom door. "Come in."
A young maid with long dark brown hair came in, looking at the floor, visibly shy. "Their Majesties the king and queen wishes to see you in the dining room in half an hour."
Y/n sighed before getting out of her bed duvet. "I see, thank you, you may leave."
"Yes Y/n-sama," she said politely before leaving.
Y/n washed quickly, letting the cool water chase away the last traces of sleep. With little thought, she reached for the first dress her hands found, slipping it on before standing in front of the mirror. She combed her hair back, smoothing the loose strands until it looked neat enough to satisfy even the strict standards of the palace. It was far from elaborate, but presentable and that would have to do.
Leaving her room behind, she stepped into the quiet corridors, the polished marble floors echoing softly beneath her footsteps. The scent of freshly baked bread and brewed tea drifted through the halls, guiding her toward the dining room where breakfast was undoubtedly already being prepared.
She had barely rounded the corner when a small figure came hurrying toward her. A young girl with bright blonde hair and curious blue eyes stood in her path, dressed in a finely tailored royal-blue dress embroidered with delicate silver thread. Despite her noble attire, there was an unmistakable youthful energy about her, one that made it difficult for her to remain still for more than a few seconds. It was one of her nieces, Britannia.
"What are you doing here sweety? The breakfast will be served in 10 minutes, you should be at the dining room by now," you said friendly.
"I got lost," she answered shyly.
Y/n winked. "Shall we go to the dining room together then? What do you think Britannia?"
"Yes please."
So, together you reached the grand dining hall where even waited. Once arrived, you bowed and smiled politely alongside the little girl. "Sorry for our late arrival. Dear Britannia got lost."
"You are just in time my swan," said your mom.
Like the day before, Y/n took her seat between Yonji and Elijah, while Niji sat directly across from her. It was hardly the seating arrangement she would have chosen for herself, but she remained composed, her expression betraying none of the unease stirring beneath the surface. She wasn't comfortable, yet she refused to let herself feel intimidated.
She had made up her mind or at least, she kept telling herself that she had. She desperately wanted to believe she had reached the right decision, the one that would spare everyone the greatest amount of pain. Even so, doubt lingered stubbornly in the back of her mind.
