Once Ember settled into her new chambers, she headed out once again along the halls of the castle. She spent countless hours gazing upon the beautiful tapestries that hung along the grands walls and then strolling along the vast gardens until the sun started to set.
She lost all track of time her first day at the castle. She sat swinging silently in a tree swing in the far corner of the garden, welcoming the evening to cast its shadow upon the land. She grabbed the swing with both hands and leaned back hard, pumping her legs to make it move swiftly and as high as she could go. She closed her eyes as she suddenly allowed herself to let everything go. She finally felt free. The word disappeared in that brief moment as she continued to swing.
She smirked and let go of the swing as she headed forward. In the momentum of the swing, she flew off of the seat and into the air, landing on her feet some small distance away. She laughed heartily as she landed and looked around to see if anyone was around watching her. No one was around. Happy with herself, she smoothed out her skirts and bounced back inside the castle as she walked.
She headed down to the throne room first. The vast room of stone and tapestries made Ember feel momentarily tiny. "Woah..." as she stared around the room, slowly walking into the middle of it. She paused once she got half way into the room and turned around, staring and taking it all in. The sun by this time of the day shining through the tall windows and casting shadows along the floor at her feet. She stopped when she turned to the thrones sitting at the still far end of the room. Something there caught her eye. Curious, she made her way over to them.
Upon reaching the carved wooden thrones, ancient beyond knowledge, Ember kneels down to look under what would be Sky's seat. Peeking under it, she sees the object that caught her attention from across the room. She grabs up the tiny item and holds it in the palm of her hand as she sits back up on the stone floor, now warmed by the sun. She rolled it around staring at its design etched in the silver colored metal.
"I wonder what these symbols mean?" she whispered to herself as she rolled it over in her fingers. She slide her index finger gently over the symbols and the ring seemed to glow slightly. Taken aback a minute, she stared more curiously at her new discovery. "I wonder..." She slid her finger again slowly over the same symbol to see if it would do it again. Sure enough, it glowed faintly. "Maybe Sky will know of this ring? Or maybe I can look it up in the library?"
She looks around and heads over to see if maybe Sky was around before remembering about her phone to reach her with, "Will messages work from another realm?" She shrugged her shoulders, "Worth a shot." She sent Sky a message questioning her find. After some minutes, Sky replied that it sounded like one of her protection rings she had and that Ember was more than welcomed to it, if she so chose.
Happily she slide the ring on her finger. She smiled as it glowed faintly upon placement and headed back to her stroll around the grounds.
She found her way easily to the ballroom and beamed brightly as she looked around. Her mind rolling around quickly at all the things she could do in this one room. All the styles of parties, and banquets, and so much more. She giggled to herself and skipped to the tall, glass doors. She peeked outside as she opened one set of doors, finding it lead to the gardens. "Beautiful, this will make a wonderful addition to the parties on the nice summer evenings." She twirled back into the room, leaving the doors opened and danced alone in the middle of the room. She paused reaching the piano and sat at the bench. She smiled as she sat at the piano, looking around the room. She began to plan things in her head and then quickly set to work, racing from the room to the kitchens first.
The coronation was the first that had to be organized. So she made sure the meals for the day was tested and planned out before she asked where to find the seamstresses and the florists for the accents to the rooms. She quickly headed to the village to seek them out.
"Odd that they don't reside in the castle, but I guess keeping them with their families is more important to the queen." She strolled along the village, taking in the surroundings. She smiled as tiny faye children ran by giggling to their own conversations and looked upon all the varieties of vendors selling their wares on the street in the market place.
She easily found the shops she needed and spent the rest of the afternoon looking over colors and arrangements that she felt would represent Sky in the best way possible. Nothing was too good for the best coronation this island would ever see. She would make certain of that. She was after all, the royal organizer now. It was her job to see to this kind of thing.
