Some weeks later, Ember felt it was enough time to return back to the bunker and see how everyone was doing. Things seemed a little calmer for her when she was welcomed with open arms by all. She continued to make plans for the castle as she spent time back at the bunker. She was even more so excited when she found Sky had become closer to Elijah. Life could not feel more complete hearing that two of her favorite mentors were so happy together.
It wasn't long before Elijah requested Ember's help with a surprise picnic for Sky. He wanted to set up a picnic in the castle gardens, one of their favorite spots along the grounds. She hurries to check if it was ok to set up a picnic with Sky before she actually set to work.
She hurried back to Elijah, "Sky gave permission to set up the picnic, with your blessing too, of course." She beams excitedly.
"Thank you, Lady Ember. It is a wonderful idea to have you set up the picnic. No one else could do so better," He paused to reflect. "I am hoping for a simple picnic that will capture the essence I want for the evening..." he discussed his thoughts with her before she agreed and took off to set to work the rest of the day while she also kept Sky occupied from finding out.
She was bouncing with excitement on the inside. She felt so honored to help with this very special occasion. The two people that meant the world to her were happy together, and she got to help share in another special part of their story. Her heart ached in joy and happiness with this request. She had secretly already had ideas in her head, had she needed to help. So she instantly sprang into action, picking the perfect things for them.
She sang along softly as she bounced in her wolf way about the castle, fixing the perfect basket of treats first. She selected the finest of grapes to be shared, setting them delicately inside the lined basket. Next, she tasted a few croissants and cupcakes before she decided on the very best for her favorite couple. She wrapped everything up lovingly and placed them all inside, being sure to add some plates, wine glasses and some wine and champagne, should Sir Elijah wish on either one.
She lifted the basket up and slung a blanket over her shoulder then took off to the gardens. She gently placed the basket down and spread out the blanket. She sat upon her knees so that she could carefully smooth it out, then placed the basket in the corner. She stood back up and placed her hand upon her chin in thought.
"Something is missing..." she started to whisper to herself as she scratched at her chin. She sprang up and ran back inside the ballroom. "Of course! Oh silly of me!" She ran to a window seat, threw open the bench and grabbed up an armful of pillows and more blankets. She ran back to the spot she picked out. Just under the willow tree in the middle of the gardens they so adored. She placed the pillows and blankets all over the blanket spread out and smiled in approval.
"There. All better now." She then turned and made a sign to place for them, displaying both of their names with candles glowing all around to represent their beloved fireflies that always danced around the gardens at night. Hopefully they would do so this very extra special night for them.
She continued in her work and then waited as long as she could to watch in the shadows over her work.
Before long, she drifted off to sleep only to hear all about how the proposal Elijah planned out to Sky happened. Even more to her excitement when she woke up the following morning, that she got to help plan the wedding as well. She squealed over the news and ran off to get ready as quickly as the news had hit her ears.
