My vision is slightly blurry from the blood loss from my wound. I don't know what is happening to my arm, or what the figure did to it, but it burns like crazy.
"ZOE!" Amalia yells, her gentle petite voive sounding a little more aggressive. Jack and Arin come running down the stairs, looking distraught. Zoe is close behind them, glowing a bright red color. "Assess his conditions! Do something!" She continues to yell.
Zoe flies over to my and emits her faint blue light over my left arm and over the wound, scanning it. Can she go any slower? "Critical condition, acid from Zexes. Seek medical attention immediately" She says, in her very simple robotic voice. This time it annoys me.
"Well, point me to where it is!" I yell at her, the pain and anger are getting to me. Evan pulls me up, helping me get to my feet. Zoe spins around and starts to quickly float upstairs, as the 8 of us follow her, in a fast walk. She brings us down the top floor hallway and floats outside the door. Avalon pushes ahead and slams it open.
The room is fairly white, very sterile, with 3 medical beds on the right wall, with the left wall full of tables of medical tools, medicine, and other medical necessities. Standing next to the farthest bed from the door, Miles looks at us, slightly concerned. There stands a woman, one that looks faintly familiar. She's about the same age as Cameo and Miles.
"This way!" She says, gesturing me over to the bed. Then it hits me.
She's the same woman who was at the Trials, who led me between each Trial, and was the one running down the hallway when Avalon was shot.
Evan helps me over to the bed and I lay down putting my arm on an arm rest provided. "Alright guys, Ciara is going to take care of Orion, so you all need to give her some room to work" Miles says, telling the rest of my friends. They all groan, before giving me a smile and heading out the door. Ciara work fast, attaching a few wires to me, and cleaning up some of the blood. Miles looks at me, analyzing the situation.
"So like, how did we do on the training?" I ask, trying to distract myself. I catch Miles off guard, but he gives me a small smile which doesn't fit his personality.
"You guys did really well actually! Just upset that A Zex got you" He says, and I connect the dots. Those shadowy figures are called Zexes, or a Zex for a single one. Zoe said the same thing.
"Are they not supposed to?" I ask, wondering why he sounded so concerned.
"Not necessarily, they shouldn't have been this aggressive. Must be something wrong with the system" He trails off, but I get distracted by what Ciara is doing to my right. She cleaned the wound, but she places her cool hand on the wound and her hand starts to faintly glow green, with some vines and leaves appearing, wrapping around my left arm. Within a few moments, the vines disappear and she removes her hand and I see something that shocks me: my wound is sealed up, and not hurting anymore.
"H-how did you do that!?" I ask, and it reminds me of Cameo's power as well. He had some sort of vine, earthy power too.
Ciara smiles at me faintly before turning back and fiddles with her tools. "I have some Earth healing powers. Like you've got your ice, I've got my healing vines"
Miles steps into the conversation, with some really interesting information. "Cameo and Ciara have the same power, if you haven't caught on. They're twins"
Woah.
It makes sense though, same hair color, same face shape, it all falls into place. "Anyways, you're healed on the outside. The acid from the Zex is still in your system, so I'm gonna give you a quick shot and you'll rest here for the night" She tells me, before cleaning a spot on my arm for the shot.
"Okay, since you're all cleaned up, I'll go let everyone else know about your recovery, and figure out tomorrow's plans" Miles tells me directly, before giving me a smile and leaves the room.
"All set!" Ciara says, placing the empty syringe on the counter. "Okay before I head out, do you want some company? I could call someone down here and they can chill with you for you don't have to be alone, or you can be alone. You pick" She says with a smile.
"Can you ask Avalon?" I ask, and she gives a nod before leaving the room. I trust Avalon the most, and I don't know anyone else here that well, so I thought it'd be good to at least ask him.
Within a few moments, there's a slight knock before Avalon's head appears in the doorway. "Miss me already?" He jokes with a hearty smile, before he enters the room and plops himself on the medical bed a few feet from mine. "Hey, it's not that bad actually" He jokes, pretending to assess the mattress quality.
"Sorry to bother you, I just thought I would ask if you'd like to chill here" I tell him, feeling slightly guilty. He turns and gives me a nod before speaking.
"Nah, you're all good Orion, I don't mind. I don't like being alone anyways" He reassures me, and I feel better already. "Have we figured out what we're doing tomorrow?" I ask him, continuing the conversation.
"Miles just said that we're gonna do something with the textbook from the training course. Otherwise, nothing really" He says, pulling out his sketchbook, faintly drawing in it.
"Alright cool" I tell him and lay my head back on the bed pillow. Exhaustion hits me like a truck, and I try to keep my eyes open but Avalon must see me struggling.
"Get some sleep Frosty" He chuckles. "You need it" He says and I mumble my thanks before closing my eyes and drift off to sleep.
