As pov
When I looked in the mirror I touched my swollen busted lip and cleaned up the rest of my face and Dominic was leaning against the door frame
" where'd they go "
" Where did what go "
I said looking at him through the mirror
" your tattoos "
He nodded towards my arm
" oh I um covered them so your friends wouldn't see "
" why "
" because "
He stepped in and grabbed a rag then wipe away some of the makeup I put on them. I looked down at the sink and he said
" what's this one "
He ran his finger across the one on my back just below the collar of my shirt where the makeup had rubbed off a bit from my shirt
" well obviously it says nightmare "Dominic's pov
When she was getting cleaned up I finally asked about her tattoos
" where'd they go "
" Where did what go "
She said it so easily looking at me through the mirror
" you're tattoos "
" oh I um covered them so your friends wouldn't see "
I could tell that she had my best interest in mind
" why "
She shrugged a little
" because "
I steeped away from the door frame and got a rag wiping away the makeup she put on her left arm. She looked down almost like she was ashamed and I saw one on the back of her neck just below where the collar of a shirt would sit on her. I lifted up my hand and ran my finger across it
" what's this one "
" well obviously it says nightmare "
She said with the tiniest bit of humor in her voice
" well I can see that does it have a meaning "
" yeah "
She said like it was the hardest word to say in the English league then she looked up at me
" people say .. people say I'm a nightmare I ruin people's life's and I make it a living nightmare "
" who said that all those people your mom slept with "
" them, some of my old friends.. my dad "
Before I knew it I was hugging her she said
" they say I'm a nightmare because my big drams make there small ones seem like a blade of grass in a painting of a field"
I like it when she says such poetic things I can tell it's not forced or rehearsed it quite literally falls from her lips so effortlessly like breathing
" you are not a nightmare A "
She pulled away keeping her eyes on the floor
" How can you say that I literally just got into a fight "
" that was not your fault "
" yes it was Dom "
" NO "
I yelled
" it's my fault A that was my ex and she's nuts and I'm so so sorry she did this "
She looked at me and I could see the tears starting to well up in her eyes
" she really got you good didn't she now I see why you were down on the floor "
" You really think a hit to the face would knock me down she hit me in the stomach a couple of times and it didn't help that my ribs were already messed up "
" what ... let me see "
I started to pull on the bottom of her shirt and I didn't know why
" no stop "
She said but it was too late because I lifted it up and saw the bruises
" oh my god "
She pushed my hand down and readjusted her shirt
" ok that's enough "
" are you ok "
" I'm fine I'll just go home "
" no j-just stay here for the night I mean it's midnight and I don't think it's a good idea for a couple of teenagers to be out this late "
On that side of town is what I wanted to add but I knew it would upset her. She rolled her eyes
" god fine "
And a smile grew on my face
" shut up "
She said playfully pushing me away and laughing.
