SUMMARY
IF YOU ASKED ANYONE AT WEST HAM HIGH about Madelaine Perez, most wouldn't even know who you were talking about, while others would use the term basketcase to describe her. She kept to herself mostly and barely uttered a word in her classes. It didn't help that her mother cheated on her father with one of Madelaine's teachers at her old school. Her father moved Madelaine and himself to West Ham for a fresh start away from her mother. Somehow, though, the kids at West Ham High found out about the affair, which didn't help Madelaine make friends.
MADELAINE WAS FINE NOT HAVING ANY friends. She was a senior, about to graduate anyway, so it didn't bother her that much. When she gets paired up with Cassandra Pressman for a project, however, her thoughts change. The two girls finds themselves constantly wanting to be around one another. And Madelaine decides that maybe West Ham isn't so bad with Cassandra by her side.

— okay so obviously this doesn't have a happy ending. it will end with cassandra being shot & madelaine will be there beside her as she bleeds out and slowly dies
— it starts like a month or two before the society plot. madelaine moves to west ham after her dad finds out that her mom is having an affair with one of madelaine's teachers
— madelaine doesn't really have any friends kinda like elle. she's also bullied bc her mom hooked up with one of her teachers at her old school & people tease her about that relentlessly
— cassandra & madelaine get paired up together for a project & that's how they start talking.
— i was thinking that madelaine was helping her clean up & had to go to the bathroom so cassandra was like "i'll meet you outside" & then while madelaine is in the bathroom she hears the gun shot & rushes out only to see cassandra bleeding out on the ground
— i think the last line should be something like Both girls should've known that a love like theirs wouldn't last forever. or idk that was kinda bad ugh just something like that ya know.
