*Jason's POV*
The night ended very calmly. Ericka drove me home later, as Emma agreed to watch over me for a couple days while my concussion heals.
I walk in my run down house, and immediately head to my room. Emma follows, and asks if I'm doing ok. "What do you mean?" I question." She responds. "You know what I mean. Are you doing any better?" She repeats.
"Well, my concussion isn't all that drastic. I should be fine" I say, as she looks at me with disappointed eyes and leaves.
I know she wasn't talking about my concussion.. But I don't wanna think about what I did to myself. If Flynn found out he would probably flip his shit. I hate worrying him and I don't care what Emma says, I'm not talking about it.
I look in the hallway, and see Emma leaning against the wall. "A-are you okay?" I ask hesitantly.
"I'm fine, just a little tired I guess" She responds. "Okay, night" I say and she walks off to her room.
The next day, I notice posters all over the hallways and in the main office. "What's this?" I ask one of the passing teachers. "It's a field trip, completely free. Since it's out of state, you'll need a parent or guardian's signature. Better hurry though, it's limited time only!" She says before walking off.
I walk to class, seeing Ericka talking with some guy. I walk up to her, and embarrass her.
That's what she gets for what happened in the car when all of us went to karaoke.
"Ericka, whose this? Your boyfriend?" I say and she death glares me. Right..
I walk off to my seat, not wanting to get murdered and the bell rings. The teacher begins his boring lecture like usual. Like usual, I don't care. After class, I head to lunch and grab a plate of food. I head to my usual spot, next to Ericka who is glued to her phone.
"What are you up to Ericka?" I ask as she doesn't respond. "We already tried" Troy says. "She's texting some boy, completely ignoring us" Emily says with a chuckle. I shrug my shoulders and continue eating.
Emma sits down across from me and hands me a paper. "Now what's this?" I ask. She responds, nearly falling out of her chair. "It's freedom! WOO!" I look at her with a confused expression. "Freedom?" I repeat in curiosity.
"It's an opportunity to get out of this hell hole! We just have to get those dummies to sign it so we can leave and never return! She says looking hopeful and excited. "Emma, we can't not return" I say while laughing at her.
Whatever, I'm going to get them to sign it if it kills me. I'm not staying here with them if I don't have to!" She says. "Also, you're coming too. You don't get a choice. If we're both in on it then they're more likely to agree" She says while writing my name on the list.
As this is happening, I hear a tray plop down next to me. "Hey best friend" Flynn chimes in with a sly grin on his face, putting his arm around my shoulder. "So what are we talking about?" He says looking around at everyone. Ericka is still on her phone not giving a damn.
"Ericka-" Don't even try she wont answer" I interrupt him with a laugh. He smiles and starts eating his food.
"Actually, Me and Jason are going on that field trip out of state" Emma responds. Flynn looks at her, holding a list of people with mine and hers towards the bottom. "You're going?" He looks at me with a look of curiosity.
