I smiled while giving the group of ladies their drinks they ordered.
I received a couple of 'Thanks' And 'See you tomorrows'
"Have a wonderful day ladies." I waved.
As a couple hours of my shift passed I kept myself occupied with my phone. It has been really slow due to the holidays coming up.
It's hot chocolate season.
You would think the cafe would be packed but it's not.
I turned to my mother; Viv Ross. "Why do I choose to work here?" I asked like she knew the answer.
I'm a 22 year old single college student. I could say I'm doing well for myself with the help of my parents and sister of course. Due to me having a job since I was 14 years old.
I've had plenty of time to save for my own place, car & college. Now all I need is to find me a man.
My mother gave me a warm smile. "Because you're crazy Li." I playfully rolled my eyes and chuckled.
My mom thinks that I should only be focusing on getting my degree with no distractions. Work included.
She thinks that it's best if her and my dad worry about my finances for college but I love to do things for myself. Plus they would probably kill me if they knew how much of my money goes to shoes and clothes instead of my tuition.
But I'm straight as long as I stay on top of everything.
How am I supposed to learn if I'm always being guided?
