Potomac, Maryland
The afternoon sun beamed throughout the airplane windows as we landed. It was a light four hour flight. It wasn't that long to me because I was used to coming back and forth whenever I could.
Sadly, Aaliyah and I are not on the best terms as of right now. Of course, she has an attitude about last night. But she'll have to get over that shit fast because I'm already stressing about being here and facing my mom and dad.
"Get up, we landed." I tapped a sleeping Aaliyah who sat next to me. All morning she gave me the silent treatment but I didn't give a fuck and that pissed her off even more.
I grabbed our carry on bags out the cubby area that sat above our seats. People on the plane loaded off and scattered off to baggage claim or wherever else.
Families and business savvy people crowded the noisy airport as we tried to maneuver through the thick crowds.
We waited until we spotted our luggage on the conveyor belt.
"I know you hungry, I'll take you to lunch when we get to our destination."
I told Aaliyah as I watched her look at every food place we passed on the way to our Uber. Later I'll be renting a vehicle so that we could get around the city. I wanted to show her around but I had no idea what we'll be getting into first.
The driver opened the door for Aaliyah as soon as we walked up. "Hello, I could load these up for you sir."
I shook my head. "You good, I got it bro." I told him as I loaded our things in his trunk.
Our hotel room was an hour away, so I took that time to get me a light nap in since I couldn't on the plane.
Looking over at Aaliyah who was all the way on the other side of the back seat looking out the window. Her head rested on the back of her fist.
I shook my head and laid back.
