Pill Bottles Don't Lie

I was sleepy when I wrote this, so bare with me if some SP errors. lol----

When Thursday hit, the comrades were to wake up bright and early to start their scavenger hunt for the ingredients Merlin needed to create prenatal vitamins for Diane. The serpent sin felt relief that she would be getting these soon to strengthen her, but also that she would be seeing Merlin so that she could ask her more about what being pregnant meant for a giant.

Howzer had been giving her a hard time about being careful and Meliodas was taking the cautious road as her leader to do the same until further notice, by giving her lighter work with Elizabeth when on duty helping King Bartra lately. Diane loved extra time with Elizabeth indoors doing administrative work, but she wanted to be outside using her strength with the rest of comrades. It was where she felt most comfortable and useful, and somewhere she wanted to quickly return to if possible. If Merlin gave her the clear, she thought, then Howzer would just have to deal with it and step back.

It didn't help either that King was becoming more and more suspicious of her, something that she could sense. She hated not being 100% honest with her fairy king boyfriend, but also felt it was too early to tell anyone. She was worried about how he would react and being in her early stages of pregnancy she felt it was best to wait till she felt more settled and aware of what her body was going through and her plan for the future and what that meant with Howzer too, her ex-boyfriend and the future baby's father. Now was not the time for her to be adding more stress and drama to her plate, so she waited even though there was a tension.

Hawk ran through the halls of the Boar Hat Tavern screaming to wake everyone up to have breakfast before the hunt, "Wake up you lazies! You heard Meliodas yesterday, we have to find ingredients for Merlin to make some crucial potions! Get up, get up get up!" One by one he barged open the door of the room to get his point across, then stopped when he got pelted in the rear on his way out by Ban with one of his boots *ouch*!

Everyone, now dressed and ready to start their day, sat around tables downstairs and ate a quick breakfast of oatmeal and milk. Meliodas finished first and announced, "Remember, today we will be looking for 6 ingredients shared with us by Merlin: . We need a pot full of each one and the ingredients can be found in four areas: the outer forests of the villages of Camelot, Baste, Vanya, and Byron. So I will be separating us into 4 groups once everyone is here."

Right when King started to wonder who else was coming, he heard a knock at the door and when the captain opened it in came the Holy Knights Howzer, Griamore, Gilthunder, Guila, and Jericho as they barrelled their way to one of the free tables.

Meliodas then finished his speech, "Okay, so our groups to collect the minerals are as follows. Howzer, Hawk, and Gowther will go to Camelot. Griamore, King, and Guila will go to Baste. Diane, Elizabeth, Gilthunder, and I will go to Vanya. Last but not least- Elaine, Ban, and Jericho will go to Byron. Meet back at the tavern once you have collected a pot of each and we will celebrate with lunch before a few of us leave to find Merlin to turn in the ingredients."

Everyone honored Meliodas' authority and said 'Yes, Captain!', even if they felt some of the groupings were peculiar. King wondered why Diane was not with him even though Elizabeth got to be with Meliodas and Ban got to be with Elaine. Why was he with Griamore and Guila of all people, he thought to himself.

King put these thoughts away from being preoccupied as the groups split off and journeyed to their designated location to find the ingredients. To his surprise Guila and Griamore were nice company as they both were hard working and direct. Guila was no-nonsense while Griamore was also simply focused on the task at hand. King did not have to put on airs with them and just went about his search peacefully. No one bothered him about Howzer or gave any hints of reason for him to be suspicious as they searched together, so the fairy started to let his guard down.
