A New Place to Call Home

Diane cried it out for a while on the grass and stared at the sky looking for any sign of what she should do in her position. She was pregnant and had read into a situation where her boyfriend wanted space to mean he wanted nothing to do with her after their fight. If she was anything in that moment, it was a mess of emotions. What she wanted more than anything was to clear her head for herself and her baby.

Suddenly, a puffy white cloud passed by and Diane noticed it resembled the shape of a house. That is when a new idea came to her. "I'll find my own home if I am not welcome around King anymore. He will never have to see me again *sniffles and sobs*. I can create a home for myself and my baby." The serpent sin sat up and made her way back to Liones to look for a home for herself. Anything she had left in the Boar's Hat she would come back for at another time, but the reality was she had very few possessions anyways.

When Diane reached the village she walked up and down as many streets as she could and popped into many homes that had "For Sale" signs outside. There were some that she hated and others than she could imagine herself raising her child in happily, but there was a problem holding her back from buying any of the homes she liked... She had no savings! Each seller said the same thing, "Okay, if you are ready to buy, offer your money to buy the land or pay first month's rent." To which Diane stumbled, "I.. I can't... I don't have any yet." Each time she spoke these words the sellers laughed in her face and rushed her out of the door in hopes that a more serious buyer would approach them next.

Diane began to feel more and more discouraged by the rejections, and saw a crepe food cart in one of the streets. There, she decided to buy a ham and cheese crepe to soften the blow of her miserable day and embarrassment that she would have no where to return home to. Though, when she paid for the treat, as she sat down on one of the nearby picnic tables and savored each bite, she saw a familiar face come up from behind as they sat next to her at the table.

It was the face of Elizabeth who walked forward and asked Meliodas and Hawk to wait behind.

Elizabeth squeezed Diane and shouted, "Lady Diane! We were so worried about you. Why did you leave without telling us where you went?"

Diane looked at the princess and replied, "I left because of the fight King and I had.. He... He doesn't want me around anymore! I won't stay where I'm not wanted. I've been on my own before and can take care of myself just fine *wipes tear*."

Elizabeth frowned and said, "I know you are strong enough to fend for yourself, Lady Diane, but you weren't happy when you were alone. Remember what you told me? Plus, I would simply miss you to much.. So please don't go far away! I doubt Sir King meant that you should leave the whole Boar's Hat. Meliodas is the one who owns it and you are always welcome there with us. Please tell me you know that."

"I know, Elizabeth.. I know you and Meliodas would never kick me out. I don't know about King though. He was very upset with me. I just won't be able to feel okay there anymore if he is upset with me each day. It will hurt to much, because I love him.", said Diane.

"I see. Well, I will support you in what you want to do Lady Diane. Where do you plan to stay if not the Boar's Hat? Especially with the baby and everything?", said Elizabeth.

Diane muttered, "Well, I was thinking of getting my own place in Liones. Maybe a two bedroom, one for the baby and one for me. Also, close enough that both Howzer and I can see the baby often since we won't be living together."

"Wow, Diane. You really thought ahead this time! That is a wonderful plan.", declared Elizabeth.

To which Diane responded, "I thought so too... until I realized I forgot about money to buy or rent property *sniffles*."
