When Diane finally reached home it was still morning, but even though the sun was brightly shining she felt like a shadow of darkness was hovering over her. She knew that once she walked into the Boar's Hat Tavern's doors she would have a lot of explaining to do. She also had questions of her own still left unanswered. Her mind felt in a jumble and all she wanted to do was avoid the situation entirely, but she knew she had to grow up and speak to King, especially since she wanted to see how he was doing.

So the serpent sin took a deep breath and opened the door slowly as not to cause a stir. Many of her comrades were around the table eating breakfast, but to be expected King was not there as she was told before leaving that he would be nursing a bruised rib for the week. Diane laid eyes on Elaine who gave Diane a disappointed look, as if she was seeing in her soul... quite literally. Nonetheless, she greeted the group and walk past them to the room downstairs that King and her shared. She stood outside the door and tried to calm down, thinking of what she wanted to say or how she would respond to his questions, and knocked on the door. *Knock, Knock, Knock*

King responded, "Who's there?", and Diane replied, "It's me. Can I come in?" The fairy reluctantly said yes. There was a part of him that was royally pissed off at Diane for leaving to take Howzer to the hospital and an even bigger part that was upset she hid her pregnancy from him. Though at the same time, he wanted her by his side and to see her lovely face again, one of the few things that brought him joy in the world. So, Diane pushed the door open and looked at her boyfriend who was laying flat on the bed with his head propped up with pillows and a pack of ice on his abdomen. He looked exhausted to say the least.

"Oh King, I...", Diane cried and ran to the bed to sit by his side. She continued, "I am so sorry you are hurt like this. Is there anything I can do to help you feel better? I apologize for leaving yesterday."

"Hmphhh", King grunted then bellowed "I don't need anything right now, but I did yesterday and you weren't here. I wanted you to take care of me, Diane. My girlfriend, not my sister and Ban of all people. I needed you." Diane frowned and realized how badly her absence hurt King, but still felt that King was in good hands and was in less imminent danger than Howzer was with an open wound. So she declared, "I am sorry, King. it was wrong to leave you and you deserve to feel upset. I didn't leave because I wanted to be with Howzer instead of you, I left because I felt I needed to make sure he was okay since his wounds could have been infected."

King looked away and scrunched his eyebrows angrily then glanced again into Diane's violet eyes and said, "Enough with the half-truths, Diane! You wanted to make sure Howzer was okay... because he is the father of your unborn child." Diane's mouth opened in shock that her boyfriend had learned about her pregnancy, as it was still new knowledge and she had not yet told King about it. Diane reacted defensively and said, "Who told you that, King? Is that why you started the fight the other night?"

King felt irritated with her still being indirect and shouted, "What does it matter, Diane. I may have heard a few Holy Knights talk about it, but you should have told me! Do you know how embarrassing it is... to realize everyone knows your partner is pregnant but you? Worst of all, that it is not even my child, and a child with someone I despise... Someone who took everything from me... Someone who continues to poke his nose in my life! You still talking to him infuriates me, Diane."

Diane didn't know what to say to repair the damage that was done. Part of her felt remorse for not handling the situation better and communicating with King from the beginning, but another side of her felt pissed off that he was shouting at her and anxious as she read his words as a sign he was unaccepting of the pregnancy and thus the child.

The giantess responded defensively, "King! I've barely been pregnant for over a month! Some people don't tell anyone they are pregnant for much longer in case of a miscarriage! Yes, you hate Howzer but that is no reason to have attacked him.. And yes he is the baby's father so I was concerned if he would be okay. As much as Howzer being around is awkward, I will admit, I can't change it. I can't go back and change the things I did when we weren't together, King."
