Quiet, But Not Unspoken

She is So Cute!

Setting: The Rampion.
When (timeline): After Winter, between Wires and Nerve and Stars Above.

Thorne sat up quickly in his bed. He was still having the occasional nightmare here and there. Most of them were from that night. Even though he and Cress usually slept in the same bed now, for both of their comfort, it still happened.

Cress was sound asleep beside him, she looked so peaceful while she slept.

Thorne looked at the clock on his nightstand.

2:30 a.m.

"Really?" Thorne thought to himself.

He laid back down tried to get back to sleep.

2:45 a.m.

He was still awake.

3:00 a.m.

He wasn't asleep.

3:15 a.m.

At this point it had been almost an hour and Thorne was starting to get frustrated. He just wanted to sleep!

He quietly snuck out of bed and walked to the cockpit. He thought maybe looking at the stars or scrolling through the pictures he and Cress took on their travels would calm his nerves.

As he went to click on their pictures he noticed a file that he hadn't really payed much attention to before. It was labeled "Cress'  Satellite Research."

"It couldn't hurt to see what she researched in her free time... right?" He whispered to himself.

As he clicked on the file and started scrolling, he noticed a lot of information about himself? He found pictures and articles. He found many things that even he had forgotten about but she was still able to dig up and uncover!

At first, like anyone would feel, he was almost scared. Scared at how little time he feels they have spent together but how much he knew about him before they even met! She knew almost everything about him!

But then he started thinking.

She knew almost everything about him and she still loved him! She knows of all the bad things he has done. But she also knows of all the good things he has done. She knows that he is a good guy and he wouldn't want to hurt anyone for no reason.

She knows more about him than he knows about her!

As he was scrolling through all the information and photos of himself he heard a small scream and a light gasp.

Thorne turned around and saw Cress in her light blue nightgown. Her face was a bright shade of red. Her hands trying to cover the shock and embarrassment on her face.

He giggled but soon stopped when he saw her flee to her own room and hear the door close quickly.

He closed the file and walked to her room. Lightly tapping on the door as he heard her pacing around the room.

"Hey Cress?" He said through the door.

"Y-yes Captain?" She answered and he could hear how flustered she was. He knew she wasn't crying because there were no hiccups sniffles coming from the other side of the door.

"Can you come out now?" He asked.

"I guess so," She answered, "but why were you looking at that file?"

Thorne froze for a second. Then he cleared his throat.

"I had another nightmare and needed to do something. I didn't think it would be a big deal if I looked at your old research." He said, feeling sorry.

Silence. The only thing heard was the slight creaks from the ship and their breathing.

"I think it's cute," Thorne piped up, trying to coax her out of that small room, "how much research you did on me."

"But why? Don't you find it creepy or weird how much I did?" She opened the door and looks up at confused.

"Why would I find that weird? You obviously know what I've done. Believe me, the research you did about me is far from my standards of weird!"

Cress giggles and blushed a little bit up at him, which then made him bring her into a hug to hide the small blush creeping into his cheeks.

She yawned and he carried her back to bed where he mated down beside her.

"How is she so cute!?" Was the last thought that ran through his mind before he fell asleep pulled her in close, placed a soft kiss on her forehead, and fell into a deep peaceful sleep.
