Braiding

She woke up with braids in her hair again. Not lots, but probably about 1/4 of her hair was braided into small braids.

Thorne started to braid Cress' hair shortly after the revolution and he just never seemed to stop. Braiding what little hair she had helped him relax so Cress didn't mind. She loved the feeling of someone else playing with her hair, it kept her relaxed too. Sometimes if they were watching a movie on the couch, Cress would fall asleep on Thorne's lap. Almost every time that happened, she would wake up in her bed with some braids in hair.

At first he just did it because he was messing with her hair and trying to help her keep it out of her face, but after doing it so much and practising so often, he got really good at it and it almost became habit for him to just start braiding her hair when he could. He did it when he was bored, he did it when he was stressed, he even did it while they were laying in bed trying to sleep. It always made her fall asleep that's for sure. There'a just something about having someone you care about play with your hair and basically give you a scalp massage that is so soothing.

She has given him small braids before too. Just random ones that stick out in the front or ones that leave just a couple little waves that are oh so noticeable. She's usually pretty good at doing braids, mostly on herself. She had a lot of spare time in her satellite and when she wasn't fantasising about Carswell Thorne or singing, she was trying to get her hair out of her face. Braids seemed to work the best.

Whenever she has wet hair Thorne will braid it for her, and when it's dry they work together to get all of the braids out and brushed. Then her hair is all wavy and sometimes she looks a little bit like a lion.

It's just one more thing she loves about Captain Carswell Thorne.

A/N: I know this is really short but I'm working on getting some more written. Hope everyone's quarantine lives are good and remember to wear a mask:)
