A/N: I know it really hasn't been a SUPER long time since I've updated but to me it feels like forever. I wrote this a couple weeks ago and I think I want to make more a short story with this idea if you guys like it. This would be the first chapter and I already have some ideas for more of this but if you guys want just one shots or have other ideas in mind that are better than let me know. If you want more of this then leave a comment telling me that you'd read a book full of this concept and I should be able to to do that for you! Enjoy!

He was leaning on one of the walls in his best friend, Cinder's, garage complaining yet again about how much he hated his cell phone as she worked on a fixing up and old car she found.

"It's awful! Sometimes it'll just randomly delete things! Usually I don't need them anyways but still! I should be the one to delete it, not my phone! Oh and also-

"Just get a new phone! If you hate it that much, but a new one!"

"I guess I could do that. I just don't know where to start looking? I mean, I have no experience trying to choose one. I just get one that looks good and isn't too expensive. Maybe that's why this one sucks?"

"I have a friend that works at Perfect Purchase in a the Smarts Squad. You can go ask her to help you find a good one, she's really good with that kind of stuff."

"She?"

"Yes, Thorne. Her name is Cress. She's short, has blonde hair, and is super shy but super kind. You'll be able to spot her I'm sure, just leave me alone while I work on this car? I'm going over to Kai's for dinner soon and I need to get cleaned up before I go over there."

Thorne let out a huff and just stared off at the wall in front of him.

After a few silent minutes Thorne began to walk out of the door.

"By Cinder! Tell Mr. Kai I say hi!"

"By Thorne!"

He got in his car a drive to the store that Cinder had mentioned.

As he walked in, he immediately noticed that the place quiet empty. There were workers and a few other people in the store but not very many.

He saw a big black and red sign at the back of the store that read, 'Smarts Squad.'

As he was walking to it he noticed a small blonde by the desk in her black button up shirt, red neck tie, and black jeans. She was organizing some movies that were on a shelf near her. They seemed fine to him but maybe she was reorganizing them because she was bored.

He gently tapped the girl on her shoulder and she jumped in surprise.

"Sorry I didn't mean to scare you."

"Oh no it's fine, it happens more than you'd think." She gave an awkward chuckle after she said that and nervously rubbed her arm.

Thorne noticed how beautiful and blue her eyes were as he looked into them and almost forgot why he was there.

"Are you Cress? I'm a friend of Cinder's. She sent me to get a new cell phone, told me you cold maybe help me with that?"

"Of course I can! Follow me, they're over her."

She motioned for him to follow as she walked towards the cell phone displays.

"So you know my name. What's yours?" She asked him. It was as if she went through different stages of either being nervous or confined in what she was saying. This statement was almost so quiet that Thorne didn't catch it.

"Thorne. Carswell Thorne."

He answered quickly when he realized that he had waited a couple seconds too long to answer without it sounding a little bit weird.
