And yours truly, @FellowGayReader)The street filled with people shouting, screaming and holding up signs. ‘Gay is a sin’ was plastered on nearly every piece of cardboard the protestors held up. They trudged through the streets. Large, red ‘X’s were painted over nearly every rainbow insight -except for the one in the sky that was really ironic to what they’re doing- and fire burned the others, changing their colourful stripes into burning ash.
And there Logan Landore stood, in the middle of all this chaos, not really saying anything or urging anybody on since it wasn't his thing yet silently protesting with them. His brown locks hanging around his ears and his square glasses covering his eyes. His smart posture stood with them. Little did he know he would regret this later.
(5 years later)
Logan stood outside of his new apartment. He glanced behind him to see his parents there to see him leave. Sadness was painted on their face. He gave them a quick fake smile -at least, the best he could- and waved goodbye before he took out the key and turned it to get inside.
Surprisingly, Logan didn't bring that much stuff with him, he was very basic and simple. He had a little clothes, some books, and the basic necessary he’d need to survive. He had always been an organised man. Logan was grateful that he could finally leave that house he had lived in his whole life. He disliked living with his parents, they were really bothersome at times yet he was still grateful that they gave him all he needed to survive.
Logan picked up a few plain shirts and started to place them in a drawer until a loud knock at the door alerted him. So, he dropped what he was doing to answer the door. When he got there he sighed and opened the door.
The first thing he noticed was some blonde fluffy hair, followed by an award winning smile and then some brown eyes that scream ‘welcome' behind some round glasses- unlike his which are square. He blinked a couple of times to try to make it as least awkward as he possibly could and took full view of the man before him.
They wore a light blue polo shirt and some light khakis. A grey cardigan hung loosely around his shoulders and were knotted just below his chest. He looked around the same age as Logan -25- and seemed to be very welcoming. Logan was broken out of his inspecting when the neighbour greeted him.
"Hiya neighbor! I heard that you were moving in today, so I made you some cookies. I hope we can be friends! Also my name is Patton!" Logan then noticed the plate of cookies with ‘Patton’ had in his hands, he took them when Patton handed them to him.
"Greetings and salutations, Patton.” Logan replied with his new found knowledge “You can address me as Logan” He thanked him for the cookies and received an even bigger smile. Although he knew that Patton meant no harm he is a little confused on why his neighbor would go out of his way to make cookies for someone he didn't even know, but still thought it was nice. He should return the favour someday.
Patton kept asking questions outside the door until Logan just offered to let him come in, needing to carry on unpacking anyway. The bubbly boy refused and said that Logan should come to his apartment and so they did, despite Logan not really wanting to be social but then not wanting to be hated.
Turns out Patton lived right next door to Logan -which was a pleasant surprise- and he thought of the pros and cons. He had somebody to talk too, that was good. Then there were the cons. From first impressions, Patton seemed to be the type of guy who could be pretty loud, likely going to disturb Logan from his work. He shook those thoughts out of his head and came back to the real work, grateful that Patton didn't think bad of him.
Both of the men walked into the home, Logan admired all the art on their walls (which was the first thing he noticed). The walls were a nice pastel peach colour and black furniture was dotted around. Then he looked at the sofa and there he was. The man that would change Logan's life forever. Except that he didn't know that yet…
(A/N. This chapter was short but its the intro so wa chu gonna do? Also thanks too Imabee13 and Clarebear1490)
