Talai and Ignis were across from each other, both their arms raised to their chest. Lucy and Cheyanne sat on the porch and waited for the fight to commence.

"Hey, girls what's going on? Are the neighbors fighting again?" Ralph asked.

He stepped out the door with a guitar in his hands. Cheyanne bonked him on the head with her popcorn bucket.

"Uncle, we don't have neighbors, we live on the edge of town remember?"

"Right sorry! I keep forgetting about that. I guess while your double dates figure their stuff out, I'll start cooking soon, we're having Cajun tonight!"

He let out an awkward laugh and gave them a thumb's up before going back inside. Talai held his gauntlets tightly, then dashed towards Ignis and got up in his face.

"If you're not going to make a move. Then, I'll start this battle you bastard!"

"I wouldn't recommend up-close combat with me. You could get burnt to a crisp, angel boy!"

Ignis's flames bellowed out and spewed towards him in response.
Talai held his gauntlets up to combat the flames while they circled around him. He jumped into the air as his gauntlets grew in size. With an almost deafening slam into the ground, pillars of dirt launched into the air and rained down on Ignis.

"That's fine by me! If I can't punch your face in up close, I'll do it from afar, hope you don't mind getting dirty!"

Talai watched the soil cover Ignis and the flames die down. He remained silent before busting out of the mound with his flames reigniting.

"Such a trick like that won't work on a prince. Let me show you some regal fit for my status!"

His flames began to spin into spirals and headed straight at him like missiles. Talai caught one of the flame spirals and jumped backward as one struck his wings with sharp burning pain. He panicked and quickly crushed the flame spiral in his hands before patting out the flames.

"Ah what the heck! The one part of me that gets burnt and it has to be my wings!?"

"I thought you had more fight than that? You were so upset about earlier, thought you were her best friend?"

Ignis snickered at him, he wiped the dirt off from his hair and clothes. Talai's gauntlets dispersed, and he started to concentrate his energy into a new weapon. From his hands came a long flail, its chain struck the ground and prodded at the dirt. He flung the heavy flail at Ignis, with the spiked ball traveling at him.

"Don't worry, I have plenty of fight in me! There's no way I'd lose to the likes of you!!"

Ignis glided through the air with his flames and dodged it with ease.

"How do expect to hit me from this range? If those gauntlets weren't effective, what makes you think this is?"

The chain extended and wrapped around his torso as Talai grinned with glee. He slung him into the ground face-first while Ignis's flame died down, and he went silent again.

"Gotcha! Now, what was that about range, pretty boy?"

Talai looked over to the girls, with a big smile on his face. Lucy was rolling her eyes, munching on popcorn and groaning to herself.

"If they keep on fighting like this, I'll knock them out myself. At least this popcorn calms me down."

"Hey now, watching two love interests fight over you is definitely better than what I get on cable! Besides how else was I going to enjoy this afternoon?"
