Chapter 8: Coming Changes

Yori was out of breath from talking to her parents about her trip to earth.

"...that's about what happened." She took a gulp of air in. "Lucy said she isn't coming back until she was stronger and could risk contesting the archangels."

Clara rubbed her hands slowly before moving her hair out from her face.

"I feel so bad for her, she didn't deserve to be punished that severely. At least she seems to be happy on earth."

"That's my girl!" Lux was grinning from ear to ear. "I'm so proud, she took on Lucifer head-on and won! I just know she'll do great work down there!"

Yori giggled at her father and shook her head happily.

"We'll be waiting for her to return with open arms. I bet right now, she's fighting as we speak!"

Back at Døden's Kall hideout, Kent was firing both his Gatling guns at Lucy and increased the fire rate. Swe chunked mines and grenades at her while Fin shot at her with a hail of bullets. She ducked and slid past the intense fire getting behind a table she grabbed one of the cooking grenades.

"These guys are quick to the trigger, better keep my guard up..."

Lucy tossed the grenade back at Swe and jumped out from hiding. Dodging a wave of oncoming bullets swiftly as the grenade exploded. Swe promptly rolled out of the way from the explosion and grunted in annoyance.

"Tch, trying to throw my own weapons back at me? Just wait until you make a mistake girl, and blow yourself up!"

In response, Swe took out a detonator from his pocket while Ice lined up his shot and fired an ice bullet right at her head.

"See if ya can dodge this! This one's special!!"

Lucy sensed the bullet and stepped to the side and the bullet lodged into Kent's chest. Oil began to spew out and stain the nearby ground, he looked down at it and transformed his hands into a repair kit while patching up the hole.

"Leaking...must patch up severe damage."

Fin ran up to her, unloading his light machine gun on her.

"Come on! Try and fight me at this range!" He laughed wickedly.

Lucy crouched down and leaped up into the air to avoid the bullets. Before spinning around and kicking his gun right in the barrel. It snapped in two and a bullet shot out and struck her shirt. Missing her body but leaving a hole in her sleeve.

"Almost had me there! I hope you're ready for some hand to hand combat!"

Lucy punched him in the gut and sent him sprawling on the ground. Fin then pulled out a knife and lunged at her, cutting into her arm. Lucy felt the sharp pain on her arm and unleashed a flurry of punches into his chest.

"Oh, now I'm pissed! First, you shoot a hole into my shirt and now you cut my arm. You better be glad I'm holding back!!"

Fin groaned in pain, he held his arms up to block the punches and skidded back from her.

"What can I say? You broke my favorite gun! Payback is a bi-"

Fin was slugged in the face before he could speak and hit the ground as he went unconscious. Lucy turned her attention to his brother and gripped her new wound, it seared in pain before she stopped.

"I was about to heal my wounds but I figured that'd be too strong against humans. Unless you guys also have that ability?"

Swe frowned at her and held the detonator closely to his side.
