The Broken Heart

Hello this is an interview of the writer MitchieKat 

I have to start with a damn. How in the world did you even come up with the idea of the story?

I was actually at school and I was really in the mood to write so I just started writing what came to my head and then I got this idea.

In the scene were Brett takes her on the date. How did you feel writing that? I mean didn't you cry, feel your own heart tear out of its place as it happened? because I'm sure mine did

It was actually very challenging to write. I felt, as you said “my own heart tear out of its place”. I was quite relieved when I finally finished it.

How was it like changing her from this happy,loud and cheerful girl I to this broken girl? Was it tough or easy?

It was a little weird, but not as hard as I thought it would be. I just tried to remember a day where I had closed off the world and made her do that every day.

How was it like writing about her parents abusing her?

It was actually really depressing. I had only read stories about it, so I had no idea what it was like.

Why is it you wanted to make her parents abuse her to that extent?

I don’t really know. I kind of felt that for her to be more scared, especially since she used to be strong willed, that more needed to happen to her; it needed to be harsh.

What I don't understand is Tammy and Ryder's relationship. One minute they are together the next minute they are not. Can you explain that?

It’s actually based on a relationship one of my friends is in. They really love each other, but they don’t always agree on everything and end up fighting for a couple days before its better. So I thought, “Why not put something like this in my story?”

Why is it Aubrey agreed to let kale go on a date with Juliet?

Aubrey hates seeing others upset and sad and she just didn’t want to see what would’ve happened if Kale had turned her down. I mean, Juliet had been so confident and Aubrey didn’t want to see that. 

Why is it that kale didn't tell anyone about them being mates?

He didn’t want people to think she had turned him down, or the other way around. He would’ve felt that he would’ve been a failure as an alpha if he couldn’t even get his mate.

How did Kale found out about her bring abused?

He had actually suspected it during that thunder and lightning storm when she cowered away from him. Then, he had confirmed his suspicions with Tammy when she left and called her- that’s who was calling- and got worried. Barged in. And well, you know the rest.

Why is it that you didn't show detail about Aubrey's past and explain how and when they ran away?

I kind of wanted people to just create their own story in their head about what happened. It wasn’t really important to the story that much, but the real reason is because they wouldn’t pay for the schooling and were not home often- and Aubrey was only 12 making Luka 13. See? Not very important right?

How did Luka and Sky first meet?

They had met at a bowling alley and both were with a group of friends. He had smelt her when she walked in, found her stunningly gorgeous and walked up to her to use the chat line “If you were a new hamburger at McDonalds, you would be McGorgeous.” She had laughed and walked away, so he did the second one, “I bet I can kiss you on the lips without touching them.” And when she took the book, and lost, she found him funny and charming so they started talking.

Why is it that Aubrey didn't tell Luka about Brett and what he has done?

She had gotten over it, and felt it was pointless to tell him. It didn’t bother her anymore so what was the point in worrying Luka? But she knew, that if she had to, she would tell him.

Who is your favorite character and why?

I really like Tammy because she kind of reminds me of my best friend with the way she dresses and talks. Especially since she tries to help her friends and tries to get them to say their secrets. And I just really liked writing her.

What is your favorite chapter and why?

My favorite chapter definitely has to be the one when Aubrey finds out she loves Kale after their first date. I just think it’s so cute

Are we going to be expecting a sequel or trilogy? 

I really don’t have time to write as much anymore, and plus I didn’t even think about a sequel.

Team wolf all the way!
